The 2010 Winter Olympics will bring the best athletes in the world to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in February of 2010. The arrival of the Winter Games will also bring about a “new” venue, the Canada Hockey Place.
The Canada Hockey Place is not new in the truest sense of the word. Due to the fact that corporate sponsors cannot brand sporting venues during the Games, the GM Place will take on this new name while hosting events for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Please visit our GM Place page for all non-Olympics events at the GM Place in Vancouver!
All the great amenities that made the General Motors Place such a great venue remain! The Canada Hockey Place comfortably seats over 18,000 for hockey games, 19,000 for basketball action and approximately 14,000 when hosting a concert. The venue is home to the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL, and was formerly the home for the Vancouver Grizzlies basketball team, the Vancouver Ravens lacrosse squad and the Vancouver Voodoo roller hockey team.
The Canada Hockey Place will go down in history as being the first venue hosting Olympic Ice Hockey to use NHL-sized ice. This will surely maximize the number of spectators that will be able to support their country during the tournament.
An already outstanding venue becomes even better for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Be sure to secure your tickets today for all events at the Canada Hockey Place!
