Present Laughter Tickets

First produced for the stage in 1942, Present Laughter is a comedy inspired by a line from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, “present mirth hath present laughter.” The story takes place in comedian and actor Garry Essendine’s London apartment. Farce and hijinks ensue as he, a snobby yet desirable man, must deal with the women in his life, including his ex-wife, his secretary and a young fan who seduces him. Starring as Garry in the 2017 revival is Kevin Kline, a two-time Tony Award winner. Playing at the St. James Theatre in New York City, this is a comedy that is truly enjoyable.
