The race to the MLS Conference Cup is well underway, with four teams clinching their places in the finals. To no one’s surprise, those four teams are the Montreal Impact and the Toronto FC from the Eastern Conference as well as the Colorado Rapids and the Seattle Sounders FC from the Western Conference. The first round of the finals kicks off on Tuesday, November 22. Montreal will square off against Toronto in an epic Canadian rivalry match, while Colorado will host Seattle. Now that the international break is over, the MLS Cup Playoffs will begin. There are four teams left: Toronto FC, Colorado, Seattle and Montreal. It could be anyone's year, with Toronto having the slight edge in the ESPN Soccer Power Index. They have a 56 percent chance of reaching the finals and 29 percent chance of winning the cup. Colorado only has a 46 percent chance of advancing, but if they do, they have a 28 percent chance of winning. Seattle has a higher chance of reaching the final but a lower chance of winning the title. Montreal is ranked least likely to make it to the final and win, but at this point anything can happen. This week, David Villa was announced as one of the finalists for the Most Valuable Player this year. However, because Villa was kicked out of the game against Toronto FC, the player was waiting to hear his discipline for the future of the season from the MLS disciplinary committee. Villa was in jeopardy of receiving a suspension and some believe that he was let off easy because he is a superstar.
