Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo News
Few things provide a better family-friendly atmosphere than a rodeo. Filled with nonstop thrills, spills and excitement, rodeos feature the incredible feats, agility and athleticism of talented cowboys. Rodeo Houston is one of the biggest and most popular rodeos in south.
Founded back in 1931, the rodeo is currently held at Reliant Stadium and brings in huge attendance during the 19-day event. More than 2 million spectators attended the rodeo and livestock show last year.
The rodeo not only features bull riding, calf roping and the traditional events found at a rodeo, but it also includes performances by well-known musicians and performers. There is also a parade associated with the rodeo, along with a barbecue contest and a calf scramble.
Rodeo Houston is one of the world’s biggest rodeo events, and if the performers and attractions in 2017 are anything like the ones in 2016, fans will be in for a real treat. In addition to the fantastic roping and riding, Houston brought in some of the best musical acts in the country to perform in 2016, including The Band Perry, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and many, many more. Since the event takes place at NRG Stadium in Houston, there’s no act that’s too big for the arena. Incredible musicians start performing and riders start riding on March 7. Tickets for that and other dates are currently available for as little as $29.
