The Rodeo Art competition is one example, which this year honored two students from nearby Splendora Junior High for their artwork. The illustrations, which featured various types of wildlife, will be exhibited through the month of March at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo show, helping to highlight local creativity while enriching the experience for those in attendance. Herman scored a huge upset victory in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, as his Cougars defeated the favored Florida State Seminoles. As marshal of the Downtown Parade, Herman will lead dignitaries, floats, marching bands and of course, countless trail riders. 3/13/15 - Regardless if you are a cowboy and animal fan or not, the Rodeo Houston is an event you will not want to miss. Filled with all sorts of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, the Rodeo Houston is sure to meet or exceed all of your expectations. The rodeo always has a special guest to entertain and on March 16, 2015 the beloved Dierks Bentley will be there to blast out his incredible vocals and lyrics for all to hear. While you are there check out the carnival, delicious home cooked food, shopping and the children’s activity center. You won’t leave disappointed.

3/4/15 - If you enjoy the rodeo, one of the biggest events to look forward to is Rodeo Houston. A lot of the proceeds from this event go towards charities and organizations, so it’s a great cause full of exciting things to do. This year, a lot of great bull riders will be looking to shine. Some of them include Nate Baldwin, Trevor Brazile, Blair Burk, Clint Cooper, Tuf Cooper and Tyson Durfey. There are a lot of activities other than bull riding, such as the Fan Zone. This area gives fans the chance to meet the superstars of rodeo today. Fans can engage with the riders, and even get a signed autograph. There are a lot of awards handed out throughout the event, and one of the most exciting is the High Flyin’ Award. This achievement is given to the rider who has the highest flight or hardest spill on the night. Tickets can be purchased now for $5.

2/25/15 - Rodeo Houston is just a week away, and the city and visitors alike are preparing for the two-week long event. Starting February 21, the 13th annual horse trail rides begin with riders from 11 different towns in the state, as well as a single town in Louisiana and Mexico. Riders will ride the trails on their way to Houston for the rodeo. Most historic is the Salt Grass ride, which began in 1952 with four riders, but this year has 1,400 riders. The 3,000 riders from the 13 different trails will come into town on Friday, February 27th to participate in the big parade. Tickets remain available for the concerts, with Eric Church on opening night (starting at $5) and ending with Luke Bryan on March 22 (starting at $34).

2/18/15 - Rodeo Houston is two weeks of entertainment for the whole family, with music from a variety of top performers and the traditional rodeo events, including a livestock show and professional bull riding. It is the world's largest rodeo, with numerous events every day that are capped with a spectacular concert by leading musicians, such as Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, and Ariana Grande. Texas is known for its barbeque, so it makes sense that the World's Championship Bar-B-Que also takes place at Rodeo Houston. This contest first began in 1974 with just a few contestants, but 2015 is set to have more than 250 teams competing to win in what is one of the largest and most prestigious BBQ competitions in the country. Tickets to Rodeo Houston remain available, including for the nightly concerts.

1/15/15 - Not that the official entertainment lineup has been announced for Rodeo Houston, you can make plans to come to the livestock show and rodeo that features some of the biggest names in music. Eric Church opens the show on March 3. He’s followed with performances by Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Alan Jackson, and many more. It’s not just country music, but Fall Out Boy, Pitbull, and La Arrolladora Banda El Limon. For over two weeks, you’ll be able to see these great performers and watch top rodeo cowboys and cowgirls. You’ll find good old-fashioned BBQ, trail rides, and activities for the kids. Get in on all the fun at NRG Stadium. Come to Razorgator and get your tickets to these fantastic concerts before they’re gone.

2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo & Concerts

2/8/13 - Although Rodeo Houston has a rich history in the world of livestock exhibitions, many flock to Reliant Stadium to see their favorite artists take center stage at night, following the Rodeo events. Houston Rodeo attracts more than 2 million people and folks have come to expect great musical performances from all genres. In 2013, musical performances kick off February 25 with Toby Keith and finish in front of a sold out crowd March 17 with George Strait. George Strait’s Rodeo Houston Show sold 77,000 tickets in two minutes. Houston Rodeo tickets under $35 are currently available for all artists except George Strait.

It's been said that the diverse 2013 Rodeo Houston lineup is the strongest in the rodeo's history and includes Mary J. Blige, Pitbull and X Factor judge Demi Lovato, as well as numerous Country Music artists, like Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean. Eleven of the twenty-one artists performing at the Rodeo are either currently on tour or will be touring later in 2013. Seeing an artist at Rodeo Houston is usually much cheaper than seeing them headline a concert; in some cases, Rodeo Houston tickets are half the cost of a concert ticket. As for the remaining artists not on tour this year, it’s probably the only chance fans will get a chance to see the artist live.
