In 1992, 21 cowboys gathered in a small hotel room and began Professional Bull Riders, Inc., one of the most successful organizations of its kind. With a united vision and just a little cash, the PBR quickly caught on in the rodeo world. Now with three touring competitions and the culminating world championship event held annually in Las Vegas, it’s without a doubt one of the most exciting events of the year. As the Professional Bull Riders Tour continues sweeping across the country, fans in attendance are being treated to appearances by celebrities other than the riders themselves. Jared Allen, famed NFL defensive end, made an appearance as a partner and stockholder in the PBR, and other big names in the country scene and country music are popping up all the time. Still, no matter how many famous people roll through, the focus is always on the riders, horses and bulls, because that’s where the real excitement is. There were nearly 40,000 in attendance at last week’s Iron Cowboy competition, and now the Professional Bull Riders are heading to the city of St. Louis, Missouri, for its 20th year in a row. The fans will gather at the Scottrade Center this Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25, for the PBR’s Bass Pro Chute Out. The world’s best bull riders will also be in town, giving fans the experience of a lifetime. Eduardo Aparecido, recent victor of last week’s Iron Cowboy will look to defend his title this week, but he’ll have his work cut out against competitors like Mason Lowe and Jess Lockwood.
