2016 NASCAR News

NASCAR action continues this Sunday, September 18 with the Sprint Cup Series at Chicagoland Motor Speedway in Joliet, IL. Weather conditions are projected to be mild and clear with only a slight chance of rain for the Sunday racing festivities. Many experts consider Brad Keselowski to be the favorite, as the driver has won the past two of four Chicagoland Sprint Cup races and comes into Sunday’s event with good odds. Tony “Smoke” Stewart may be a sleeper, as he has the most wins all-time at Chicagoland Motor Speedway. Find out when all the racing action unfolds this weekend! Tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup are on sale and available for $37 and up.

NASCAR is one of the biggest auto races of the year and is an event that you will not want to miss. It is jam packed with people, noise and a whole lot of excitement. The next upcoming race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is the Toyota-Save Mart 350 on June 26. This race will be held at the Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA and tickets are still available, starting at $15. If you aren’t able to make it in such short notice, plan ahead and make it to the Bass Pro Shops Night Race in Bristol, TN on August 20. Regardless of what race you attend, you are bound to have a fantastic time.

NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. took to social media this week to unveil his new car! The design features new paint along with an awesome opportunity for fans. In addition to printing the logos of Earnhardt’s sponsors on the exterior of the car, his team has also decided to print the names of 500 of his biggest fans (who also happen to donate) on the hood! The experienced racer will undoubtedly debut the new car in the upcoming weeks and months as competition continues. Next up for NASCAR is the May 7 Gobowling.com 400 series to be held at the Kansas Speedway. Tickets for that and all other upcoming races can be purchased from us today!

It’s not often that NASCAR makes sweeping changes like they did this week, as it was announced that 36 teams would be granted Charters as per a new agreement. These Charters assure eligibility for all 36 points events, with the nods going to teams based on their respective participation throughout the 2013-15 seasons. Four more racing positions will continue to be determined based on standard procedures for qualifying each week, bringing the total field to 40 cars for each race. Organizations which received Charters include prominent names such as Team Penske, Richard Petty Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports. The NASCAR World Truck Series Nextra 250 is scheduled for 2/19 at Daytona, get your tickets today!

Fans of Tony Stewart got a little bad news this week, as it was announced that the elite racer will miss out on the start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2016. The man known simply as “Smoke” suffered back injuries during a recent ATV accident, which will sideline him for at least the Daytona 500 to open the season. As of Feb. 4, the Stewart-Haas Racing Team had not yet announced a replacement driver, but fans who know Tony best know he won’t stay down any longer than he absolutely has to. Tickets for the upcoming Can-Am Duel at Daytona International Speedway are on sale now from $105 and up. Be there on Feb. 18th for all the action!

January 27th marked a proud day for Daytona International Speedway, which has undergone hundreds of millions in renovations and updates over the past two years. The result: a stadium-quality experience which NASCAR fans had been clamoring for. Now diehard race lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy many of the amenities major sports fans typically have access to, including open concourses, gift shops, dining and new-and-improved seating. The Sprint Cup will visit Daytona on Feb. 21st, and tickets are available so you can be there live! You’ll need to act quickly though—limited quantities remain and they’re flying out the door! Get yours today from $72 and up and see what a truly memorable experience NASCAR events can provide!

Regular NASCAR followers might be thrown off this year to see Danica Patrick racing in colors other than the ever-familiar GoDaddy green. This year, her car’s primary sponsor will be Nature’s Bakery for most of the season, just one in a string of big changes for the reigning queen of the race world. Danica will also be competing with new pit crew chief Billy Scott in her corner, after he spent two seasons with Michael Waltrip Racing. Many observers believe the union will be beneficial to both, as their styles and expectations appear to be the types which will mesh well together. Tickets for the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Unlimited are on sale in limited quantities—get yours from $193!

The Daytona Speedway is the perfect location to hold the first NASCAR competitions of 2016. The Florida track will host the Sprint Unlimited on Feb. 13, the Can-Am Duel on Feb. 18 and the infamous Daytona 500 on Feb. 21. As the 2016 Sprint Series commences, there are a few drivers you should be sure to keep your eyes on, including Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson. Elliott is working his way to becoming Jeff Gordon’s replacement, and he seems comfortable competing with NASCAR’s elite. Blaney is just 22 years old and has already competed in 18 Cup starts. Don’t forget about Kyle Larson, who was 2014’s Rookie of the year and placed 19th in the driver standings last season.
