Last weekend, the iWireless venue in Illinois was transformed to host the competition, and it did not disappoint. Fans were thrilled at the performances of infamous trucks such as Scooby Doo and Grave Digger. Whether freestyling, doing donuts or popping wheelies, Monster Jam is an exciting night of action that is fun for the whole family. The next stop is scheduled for June 18 in Nasvhille, Tennessee. It was anything but restful at Sleep Train Arena last weekend, as Monster Jam action turned the city of Sacramento upside-down! Young Guns Shootout champ Coty Saucier picked up Sunday’s overall win, following victories by Morgan Kane Friday and Saturday. The Gravedigger driver turned in a true performance in freestyle competition, logging a perfect 40 score while totaling 3.5 points in Wheelies and Freestyle action. Team Blue Thunder also netted a point to keep pace, capping a thrilling weekend of monster truck mayhem. From Apache attack helicopters to the cab of the Soldier Fortune Black ops monster truck—such is the life for former U.S. Army crew chief Tony Ochs. After receiving an honorable discharge following 10 years of military service overseas, Ochs found himself working with motorcycle crews for Feld Entertainment, a frequent promoter of Monster Jam events. No stranger to the format, Ochs used to kill time in local dirt bike races and demolition derbies in his youth, and after flight experience in the Apache, nothing is going to rattle this Army vet. It was Brianna Mahon and Team Scooby-Doo coming out on top in Monster Jam action in Louisville this week, with Mahon taking home a pair of event championships good for 6.5 points. Team Scooby now trails Team Zombie by an even narrower margin in the overall standings, although the latter did accumulate 3 points of their own thanks to victories in the AMSOIL Dominator Round and Speedster Racing events. An old favorite, Team Grave Digger remains in the hunt as well, holding on to third place with 10 total points following 3.5-point wins in Freestyle and Wheelies competitions.
