Winnipeg Jets Tickets

It’s been a long and productive offseason for the Winnipeg Jets, who are gearing up for the 2016-2017 NHL season. With last year’s disappointing record behind them, Winnipeg has spent the summer thinking and looking at things positively. Their last place finish in the Eastern Conference meant they got second pick in the NHL draft, a privilege which allowed them to get their hands on Patrik Laine, a Finnish forward who has caught the attention of all hockey enthusiasts in recent months. Laine will join teammates Blake Wheeler, NIkolaj Ehlers, Mark Scheifele and Dustin Byfuglien as the Winnipeg Jets attempt to turn things around this season. Tickets for all upcoming games are on sale now, so whether home or away, there’s no excuse to miss out on the action!

The Winnipeg Jets have been eating for Connor Hellebuyck to have a breakout game since the start of the season. The team finally got the performance it was looking for in a November 15 showdown with the Chicago Blackhawks as the young goalie provided 27 saves and was able to hold Chicago scoreless. The rest of the Jets backed their goalie with plenty of scoring, including three goals in the third period, leading to a 4-0 victory. The Jets will look to build on this strong defensive play during a short road trip before heading back to Winnipeg to host the Nashville Predators on November 27. Tickets for that game start at $47.

The Winnipeg Jets were so close to coming back against the Washington Capitals when the teams faced off on November 1. The Jets couldn’t get anything going early, falling behind 2-0 after the first two periods. However, two late goals had Winnipeg tied with Washington and it looked as though the Jets would be able to push the game to overtime. Then, with only 30 seconds left in the third, the Capitals managed to score the game-winning goal, delivering a gut punch to the Winnipeg fans. The Jets have a slew of home games during which the team can try to get back on track, including a matchup against the Los Angeles Kings on November 13. Tickets for that game start at $59.

While the Winnipeg Jets lost to the Boston Bruins on October 17, the final score of 4-1 makes the match seem much more lopsided than it actually was. The Jets scored first and seemed to be in control for much of the first two periods. Unfortunately, a goal from the Bruins’ David Pastrnak late in the second put Boston ahead and Winnipeg was never able to recover, giving up two more scores in the final 20 minutes. The Jets are now under .500 on the season but will look to get back on track during an upcoming home stand. The team hosts the Dallas Stars on October 27, and tickets for that game start at $43.

The Winnipeg Jets have announced their new captain for the 2016-2017 season: Blake Wheeler. After trading Andrew Ladd to Chicago at the end of last season, the team has been without a captain. Serving alongside Ladd as assistant captains will be Dustin Byfuglein and Mark Scheifele. Jets prospect Patrik Laine will be heading to the World Cup of Hockey to play in Team Finland. It was unsure whether he would be able to compete after having knee surgery, but he is healthy and ready to hit the ice. Training camp kicks off in about three weeks for the Jets. Their first preseason game will be at home against the Flames on September 27. You can still get tickets for preseason games for $5 and up.
