The team has also brought in Joe Colborne, Fedor Tyutin and Patrick Wiercioch for this season. It’s a good thing the Colorado Avalanche just crushed it in their last two games, because they are about to square off with a fierce foe. After winning matchups against the Minnesota Wild and Blue Jackets, both with 3 – 2 outcomes, the Avalanche will now host the Edmonton Oilers, who are ranked first in the Pacific Division. Wednesday’s clash will be followed by another tough one against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, November 26. The home team will need all the support they can get this week! Tickets to Saturday’s event at Pepsi Center are currently on sale and available for purchase starting at prices as low as just $28.

The Colorado Avalanche could have faired much better against the Arizona Coyotes on November 8 if not for about one minute of bad play. In the second period of the game, both teams scored two goals. However, the Avalanche gave up goals in the first 28 seconds of the opening period as well as the first 11 seconds of the final frame. The final score ended up 4-2 in favor of the Coyotes, and Colorado has those opening seconds of the first and third periods to blame. The Avalanche will look to get things going again on November 15 when the hated Los Angeles Kings come to town. Tickets for that game start as low as $15.

The Colorado Avalanche went toe-to-toe with the Florida Panthers through most of the game when the two recently met at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Unfortunately, a three-minute stretch in the third period blew the game wide open. The Panthers scored three goals in that time frame and went on to win the game 5-2. The Avalanche got goals in the first and third periods from Matt Duchene and Blake Comeau, but the game never really felt close. Colorado has looked much better in other games and will look to return to that aggressive play in upcoming matchups. The Minnesota Wild comes to town for a game on November 5 and tickets start as low as $35.

The Colorado Avalanche was undefeated before visiting the Washington Capitals, and Alex Ovechkin and Company were more than happy to hand Colorado the team’s first loss. The Capitals scored a goal in each of the three periods, but it turned out only the first was necessary as Washington went on to win by a score of 3-0. The team is off to a strong start in the early going, mixing steady offense with solid defense and playing with the consistency you’d expect from a team led by Ovechkin. The next home challenge for the Capitals will be on November 3 when the Winnipeg Jets come to town. Tickets for that game start at $7.

With the lineup set, the Colorado Avalanche is ready for the season to begin. The preseason has made clear some positional battles and has given the coaches a good idea of what the defense will look like to begin the season. The biggest question has been which forwards would start and which would stay in the box at the outset, but the final preseason games and practices seem to have solidified that. With Blake Comeau and Jarome Iginla healthy and ready to go, the Avalanche is set to take on the new season. The team will play much of its early games on the road, but will be back home to host the Winnipeg Jets on October 28 with tickets starting at $21.

After Patrick Roy quit as the coach of the Colorado Avalanche, fans and players are eagerly awaiting to learn who will take over as coach. The announcement is expected to arrive this week. There were six formal interviews, which concluded on Monday. Many speculate that Kevin Dineen and Bob Boughner were among the contenders. This week, the team did sign a new player, right wing Ben Smith, for a two-way contract for just one year. There is sure to be more changes before the season starts. The team heads to training camp soon. The first preseason game will be on September 27 against the Wild in Minnesota. You can already get your tickets for prices starting at $19.
