The Buffalo Sabres beat the Penguins in a shootout game on November 19. Anders Nilsson had an impressive 46 saves. William Carrier scored early, and then the Penguins tied it up in the third. Cal O’REilly had the only goal in the shootout to give the Sabres the win. They continued their winning ways when they beat the Flames 4-2 on the 21. However, they were unable to get another win when they lost in a shootout against the Red Wings on the 23. They next head to Washington to play the Capitals and then off to Ottawa to play the Senators on the 29 and back home on the 1 to host the Rangers. Yesterday was tough for fans of the Buffalo Sabres. The home team was unable to stop the visiting Ottawa Senators and, unfortunately, the loss came in a shootout. Buffalo had taken the early lead in the first period, scoring a single goal. That goal was answered in the second period, with Ottawa tacking on a point of their own. Neither team could break the tie in regular time. It went to a shootout, where the Senators managed to outscore the Sabres 2 - 1. Buffalo will now have a day to recover before hosting the New Jersey Devils tomorrow night. Tickets to the game are on sale and available for $28.

The Buffalo Sabres are pulling up the caboose in the NHL Atlantic standings with one win and four losses so far this season. They are on a three-game losing streak despite their ability to score goals during each game played. On October 25, the Sabres played against the Philadelphia Flyers. The game was nothing short of exciting, especially when they Sabres scored three goals in the second period. However, the Flyers didn’t let that get them down and instead they answered with three goals of their own in the third period, leading the two teams into overtime.
