Unfortunately, Drew Brees and the Saints performed just slightly better, surging back in the fourth quarter to win the game 35 - 34. Whatever you do, don’t bring up the first game of the season around anyone who plays for the San Diego Chargers. After jumping out to a big lead against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chargers offense sputtered and the defense simply couldn’t find an answer for Spencer Ware. The Chiefs’ young running back had nearly 200 all-purpose yards and scored a late touchdown, helping KC push the game to overtime and eventually win on a two-yard scramble by quarterback Alex Smith. The Chargers will have to put that game in the rearview mirror as they try to get back in the win column. On October 2, the New Orleans Saints come to town, and tickets for that game start at $52.

With the preseason over, it’s time for San Diego to prove that they have the talent to compete in the AFC West. Melvin Gordon disappointed fans last season with a lackluster campaign, but the back has shown promise and could very well have a breakout season in 2016. Meanwhile, there’s plenty of talent around Gordon, including fellow running back Danny Woodhead and QB Phillip Rivers. If the offensive line can stay healthy and the defense can slow down the opposition, the Chargers should have a real shot at a playoff run. A big challenge comes to town on September 18 in the form of the high-flying Jacksonville Jaguars, and tickets for that game start at $24.

Inconsistent play has led to the San Diego Chargers often flying under the radar as the preseason comes to a close, and such is the case as the team prepares to kick off the 2016 season. However, Chargers fans have plenty of reasons to believe in their team, especially with quarterback Philip Rivers continuing to play at a high level. Injuries have left the Chargers without a star running back in recent years, but the combination of Rivers to Keenan Allen is one of the most legitimate offensive threats in all of football. San Diego hosts another powerful offense in the team’s home opener when the Jacksonville Jaguars come to town. Tickets for that game start as low as $29.

The San Diego Chargers have been in need of a new stadium for a long time, but now it looks like they’ll have to wait until the election before plans can move forward. Councilwoman Barbara Bry and her opponent Ray Ellis have both opposed a tax subsidy that would facilitate the construction of a new stadium. Instead, Bry has acknowledged her support for a hotel tax increase that would pay for the Chargers’ new home. No matter what happens at the ballot in November, the decision will be crucial for the city and the NFL team. For now, the San Diego Chargers will continue playing at Qualcomm Stadium and are set to welcome the Arizona Cardinals in preseason action this Friday, Aug. 19.

In their first preseason game of the year, the San Diego Chargers faced the Titans and were defeated 27-10. Despite the loss, several promising things occurred, including three tackles and a forced fumble from inside linebacker Joshua Perry that forced a fumble and led to the Chargers regaining possession of the ball. In addition, rookies Hunter Henry and James Jones performed well for San Diego’s offense with three receptions each. Starting players spent very little time on the field, giving the second and third strings valuable game-time experience. The San Diego Chargers take on their second preseason game at home this Friday, Aug. 19, against the Arizona Cardinals. Get in on the preseason action by purchasing your tickets now for just $5!

It’s that time of year again! The 2016-2017 NFL pre-season is just a couple of short months away, and tickets are already available for purchase. The San Diego Chargers had a mediocre season last year, which means they will be looking to heat things up this season. Phillip Rivers and the rest of the Chargers will get their first shot at redemption on Friday, August 19, when they host the Arizona Cardinals at Qualcomm Stadium in a preliminary match. Tickets are currently available starting at prices as low as $6. Regular season kicks off on Sunday, September 18 when the Chargers host the Jaguars. Tickets to the opening home game are $23 and up.

San Diego Chargers Matchups

Chargers vs Broncos Tickets

The San Diego Chargers vs the Denver Broncos is a rivalry that has been around since the inception of the AFL in 1960. The then Los Angeles Chargers beat the Broncos in their first game by a score of 23 to 19. Since then the Broncos have the edge, however, there’s reason for optimism in San Diego as the Chargers take the field for a brand new year. The Chargers will have to be ready as they play host to the Broncos on Thursday Night Football, October 13th at Qualcomm Stadium.

Chargers vs Raiders Tickets

Raiders vs Chargers is an intense west-coast rivalry that has been around since their very first meeting on November 27th, 1960 when the Chargers beat the Raiders by a score of 52 to 28. The Raiders may have had the edge through the next few decades but San Diego has come back with a vengeance, scoring a 20 and 12 record over their rivals to the north during that time span. The Chargers will have to be prepared as they play host to the Raiders Sunday December 18th at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

Chargers vs Chiefs Tickets

San Diego Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs represent an odd rivalry significant because of the stark difference between these two cities. San Diego is one of the sunniest, tourist-friendly destinations in the United States while Kansas City is a blue collar working town. The two teams have met 112 times over the last fifty years, and while Kansas City currently has a slight edge, it is the Chargers who have won their lone postseason matchup by a score of 17 to zero on January 2nd, 1993. The Chargers will have to be well prepared as they play host to the Chiefs on New Year’s Day at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
