With 22 division titles, 10 conference championships and five Super Bowl crowns, the Cowboys are one of the NFL’s most successful franchises. The team has also made the playoffs 32 times, the last being just a season ago when it finished with the best record in the NFC. However, Dallas was upset by Green Bay in the division round.

The Cowboys have always boasted a loyal fan base. The team played at the Cotton Bowl during its early years until 1971. Then, the club played at the iconic Texas Stadium for the next 37 years. In 2004, team owner Jerry Jones announced plans to build the stadium. It broke ground Sept. 20, 2005 and opened May 27, 2009. Ordinarily, the stadium seats 80,000, though it is capable of holding much more. On Sept. 21, 2009 more than 105,000 fans watched the Cowboys take on the Giants.

The stadium cost $1.3 billion to construct, making it one of the most expensive sports venues in the world. Not only does it serve as the Cowboys’ home, but it has also hosted college football games, the 2010 NBA All-Start game, Professional wrestling and boxing matches.
