3/20/16 - Four of the top 5 seeds in the South Regional have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in Louisville. No. 1 seed Kansas plays Maryland. The Jayhawks knocked off UConn 73-61 in the 2nd Round, while the Terps beat Hawaii by almost the exact same score (73-60). In the other South Regional game, Villanova plays Miami. Nova ran past a struggling Iowa team by 19 and the Canes edged a tough Wichita State team by 8. If Maryland and Miami win it'll be an Elite 8 matchup of former ACC foes.
3/13/16 - The top four seeds in the South Regional - Lousiville are Kansas (1), Villanova (2), Miami (3) and California (4). Kansas, led by Perry Ellis and Frank Mason III, is the early favorite to win the South and the 2016 NCAA Tournament title.

Last year, it was Houston handling the South Regional, which saw No. 5 Utah fall to top-ranked Duke, No. 2 Gonzaga knocking down No. 11 UCLA and finally, the Blue Devils prevailing over the Zags in the Finals. So far in 2016, both teams are struggling; neither is ranked among the AP’s Top 25 as of mid-February.
