Washington Wizards News

The Washington Wizards have just 11 games left in the regular season, and the team still has a shot to earn first place in the Eastern Conference. Washington had a record of 43-28 as of March 22 when it beat Atlanta 104-100. Washington’s offense has been running on all cylinders. The Wizards have been held under 100 points just once since the beginning of March. Following a home game on March 24 against Brooklyn, Washington hits the road for five straight. It will be a difficult stretch that includes contests with the Western Conference leader, Golden State, and the first-place team from the Eastern Conference, Cleveland. The Wizards will also face playoff contenders Utah and the LA Clippers during the road trip.

The Washington Wizards are third place in the Eastern conference and they are working hard to keep that spot and possibly move up in the rankings. The Wizards had won five games in a row until they took on the Minnesota Timberwolves on March 13. The Timberwolves came out of the locker room with their heels blazing, allowing them to score 41 points to the 23 points the Wizards scored. The Wizards tried to rally back as best as they could, but it just wasn’t enough when it came down to it. The Timberwolves took home the 119-104 win and put a stop to the Wizards winning streak. Get tickets for their next upcoming game on Friday, March 17.

The Washington Wizards just seized impressive back-to-back victories in which both teams scored over 100 points. On Sunday night, they hosted the Orlando Magic and eked out the 115-114 victory, largely due to their 70-point second half. Then, they traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, and went shot for shot with the Suns until the last seconds, ultimately winning the game 131-127. The momentum comes at an excellent time, as the Wizards still have four games to go in their current road trip. Catch them when they return to Verizon Center on March 15 to host the Dallas Mavericks. Tickets are currently on sale and available for prices as low as $14.

Don’t look now, but the Washington Wizards are right in the thick of things in the NBA’s Eastern Conference race. Washington is just six games behind conference-leading Cleveland and is tied for fourth place with Toronto. As March began, Washington’s record was 35-23, good enough for first place in the Southeast Division. The Wizards had a magical ending to February, knocking off the vaunted Golden State Warriors 112-108 on Feb. 28. Balanced scoring helped the Wizards to the win, as all five starters and one bench player, Bojan Bogdanovic, finished in double figures in the scoring column. Washington will try to continue creeping up the standings when it faces Orlando on March 5. Tickets to the game start at $15.

A four-game streak for the Washington Wizards was halted Saturday in Detroit. With brothers Marcus and Markieff Morris playing for opposite teams, sibling rivalry reared its ugly head, swinging the game in the Pistons’ favor in the final seconds. Still, having won 14 of the last 19 and moving into the top ten in this week’s NBA power rankings, the Wizards are happy with their performance right now. Washington is now looking to win the next two on the road in Atlanta and New Orleans before they return to the Verizon Center in D.C. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, against the Knicks. Tickets are on sale now and will set you back just $25 and up.

Unfortunately for fans and players alike, the Washington Wizards ended their winning streak on Wednesday night. After three straight victories, they fell to the Boston Celtics on the road. It looked like the Wizards were going to take home the victory with a lead at the end of the third quarter, however, the Celtics came alive in the fourth quarter with 34 points scored. It was enough to defeat the visitors 117-108. Washington will now try to regroup before they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, January 16, at Verizon Center. Tickets to that game are currently on sale and available for prices starting as low as just $10.

They’re fast and fun to watch, but the Washington Wizards still lost to the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night. John Wall led the Wiz with 18 points and 10 rebounds, but the team couldn’t keep up with Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 39 points, losing 96-123. When the teams met again three nights later, Otto Porter Jr. scored 32 points and pulled in an impressive 13 rebounds for Washington, helping his team to a 107-102 victory. The Wizards face the Brooklyn Nets this Friday, Dec. 30, for their final game of 2016. It’s a home game, so stake out your spot at the Verizon Center by purchasing your tickets now! Our prices currently start at $23.

Last week’s wins over the Bucks and the Nuggets has helped the Washington Wizards improve to a 9-13 record and boosts them to the No. 18 spot in this week’s NBA power rankings. Perhaps one of the week’s biggest moments came in the Wizards’ 116-124 loss to Orlando as John Wall scored 52 points, the most that any Washington player has earned in a loss since 1968. Up next, the Washington Wizards hope to work some magic at home this Friday, Dec. 16, against the Pistons. After that, they’ll continue the run at the Verizon Center in D.C. on Sunday, Dec. 18, against the Clippers. Tickets can be yours today for $5 and up.

The Washington Wizards are off to a rough start to the 2016 - 2017 NBA season after slipping to 2 - 7 over the weekend. They fell yet again to the Chicago Bulls in the start of a two-game road trip. Even more painful was the fact that the loss came after a close match, with the Bulls pulling off the home victory 106 - 95. Now, they will head to Philadelphia for a clash with the 76ers before returning to Verizon Center to host the New York Knicks. Tickets to the Thursday night event are on sale and available for prices starting as low as $14. Don’t miss it!

The Washington Wizards had some incredible games to end the month of October. They were able to take home the W against two of the best teams in the league. Defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors, the Wizards seemed to be on a high that couldn’t be stopped. However, it did come to an unexpected halt when they took on Atlanta on October 27. Millsap scoring a rocking 28 points led the Hawks to the win. Unfortunately, their next game didn’t bode the Wizards any better, as they suffered from a second loss against the Memphis Grizzlies. See if they can recover when you purchase tickets for their next game against the Atlanta Hawks again on November 4.

The Washington Wizards took on the defending champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, October 18. Keep in mind that this was still a preseason game, but the Wizards surprised almost everyone when they came up with the 96-91 win over the Cavaliers. The Cavs started the game out strong, outscoring the Wizards by ten points in the first quarter, but this didn’t stop the Wizards from fighting back. The Wizards turned on the gas and outscored the Cavaliers in the remaining three quarters to give them the win. Watch the Wizards play live again when they face off against the Toronto Raptors on November 2. Tickets are still up for grabs and start at an affordable $10 each.

After being described as a young team for the last few seasons, the Washington Wizards are starting to look a lot more like veterans. With a new coach at the helm, the players are staying focused on the task at hand and paying less attention to the hype generated by the media. With a roster that keeps the core group from last season intact while adding new faces that will bring some much needed energy, fans are rightfully excited about the Wizards’ chances of making the playoffs in 2016-2017. The first preseason game in Washington will be against the Miami Heat on October 4, and tickets start as low as $4.
