Cleveland Cavaliers News

The Cleveland Cavaliers are no strangers to making history, but a recent contest gave them another NBA record to add to their list of accomplishments. Sixteen three-pointers in the first half of Wednesday’s game against Portland is the most that any other franchise; the Golden State Warriors held the previous record with 15. Kevin Love made half of those baskets by himself, making 8-of-11 in the first two quarters. The shots helped the Cavs earn the 137-125 victory over the Trail Blazers, boosting their record to 10-2 and helping them keep their No. 1 spot. Cleveland plays the Mavericks this Friday, Nov. 25, at Quicken Loans Arena. Tickets start at $53 and are on sale now.

The Cleveland Cavaliers maintain their perfect record so far this season after narrowly beating the 76ers 102-101. The Cavaliers dominated the first quarter, outscoring the 76ers 34-19. The 76ers were able to gain some momentum, and narrowed the gap to just two points by the end of the third period. Channing Frye scored a 3-pointer with just over a minute left to give the Cavaliers a one-point lead. The Cavaliers were able to maintain the one-point lead for the final minute to win the game. The Cavaliers host the Hawks on November 8 and then head to Washington to play the Wizards on November 11. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $29.

It’s been a good year for professional sports in Ohio, and the Cleveland Cavaliers started out the brand new season reminding the country that they are the reigning NBA champs. Although they won the finals against the Warriors four months ago, the celebrating continued this week with a special ceremony during Wednesday’s season and home opener against the Knicks. Adam Silver was there to hand each of the players their rings, and Cleveland went on to end the night with a one in their win column. The Cavs continue their week with a game in Toronto on Friday and will be back at the Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday, Oct. 29, against Orlando. Tickets start at $24.

Never before have the Cleveland Cavaliers entered the season as defending champions, and if the preseason is any indication, the team isn’t taking the role lightly. While the club did drop a game to the Atlanta Hawks on October 10, the Cavs jumped out to a 2-0 start and have been playing like a team that isn’t satisfied with one trophy. The lineup is largely unchanged at the top, with certain additions to the bench that will likely add depth through the 2016-2017 season. Cleveland will be one of the first teams to play when the regular season starts, as they host the New York Knicks on October 25. Tickets for that game start at $156.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be looking to add another championship title after LeBron James' first season back in the city helped the team bring the city its first professional sports title since 1954. There is tough competition out there, but the Cavaliers remain one of the favorites for going all the way to the Finals. The projected lineup for the start of the 2016-2017 lineup includes Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert at guard. James and Kevin Love will start as forwards, and Tristan Thompson will round out the team at center. The first preseason game will be at home against the Magic on October 5. You can already get your tickets for that and the rest of the Cavaliers' games this season. Prices start at $6.
