Tampa Bay Rays News

Just when it started to look like the Tampa Bay Rays finally had some steam going, after three consecutive wins on the road, they fall back into their trademark slump. Tampa Bay just wrapped up a series against the Oakland Athletics, beating the home team just once out of their four-game battle. Now, the Rays head to Los Angeles to take on the indomitable Dodgers on their home turf. It is unlikely to be a pretty series, so the Rays will need your support when they return home on Friday to host the New York Yankees. Tickets to the homecoming at Tropicana Field start at prices as low as $23.

It is a difficult time to be a Tampa Bay Rays fan, as the dismal team has won just one game out of their last nine. That win is starting to feel like ancient history, however, as Tampa Bay was recently swept by the Boston Red Sox. Boston beat the visiting Rays 6 - 5 on Friday, 4 - 1 on Saturday, and a dominating 4 - 0 on Sunday. Tampa Bay will now look to regroup from not only a sweep, but also a scoreless game when they return home to face the Baltimore Orioles. Tickets to the matchup on Friday, July 15 are available for $17 and up.

It hasn’t been easy to be the Tampa Bay Rays lately, although they did get some breathing room last night with a shut out victory over the Boston Red Sox. In their previous series, however, the Rays were handily swept by division leaders the Baltimore Orioles while on the road. In fact, the Orioles beat Tampa Bay by no fewer than three runs in each of their four games. Fortunately, despite the string of losses, the Rays did rally to beat the Boston Red Sox in two recent games, even shutting them out 4 - 0 on Wednesday. Catch Tampa Bay when they host the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, July 2. Tickets are $15.

Looking at the AL East standings, things don’t seem great for the Tampa Bay Rays. However, with a hot start to June and only a few games separating them from the front-running Orioles, Tampa Bay might be poised to make a run before the All Star Break. With Longoria hitting well and Chris Archer’s stellar pitching, the rest of the club might just fall in line and start a push in the second half of the season. If they want a shot at winning the division, they’ll need to have a good showing against the Red Sox when Boston heads to Tropicana Field for a three-game series starting on June 27. Tickets for the first game start as low as $33.

Starting pitcher James Odorizzi threw five shutout innings for the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday night, helping his team overtake the Marlins and even out the series at one game apiece. While a bit of a sluggish start to the season still has the Rays at below .500, the team has definitely picked up some steam. In the last ten games, the team has scored at least four runs, the longest streak they’ve had since 2013. Tampa Bay will need all the momentum they can get for a series against the New York Yankees this weekend. Come see the Rays play this Friday, Saturday or Sunday (May 27-29) at Tropicana Field. Tickets start at $27 each.

Coming off a four-game winning streak that includes a series sweep of the Angels, the Tampa Bay Rays headed to Seattle to face the Mariners early this week. The visit began with two crushing losses Monday and Tuesday, with the third game to be played Wednesday, May 11. Losing that series is not what the Rays had in mind, but things weren’t all bad. Steve Pearce, their brand new recruit, smashed a huge solo home run off pitcher Wade Miley in the second inning, keeping Tampa in the running despite the ultimate 4-6 loss. The Rays will welcome the Athletics to Tropicana Field for a series this weekend. With games Friday, Saturday and Sunday (May 13-15) and ticket prices that start at $16, there’s no excuse to stay home—get your tickets now!

The Tampa Bay Rays now have a two-game wining streak going after defeating the Baltimore Orioles at home last night. Not only did they manage to beat the Orioles, but also shut them out completely! The Rays scored two unanswered runs in fifth and sixth innings to win the game 2-0. It bodes well for the home team, who will play Baltimore two more times. After tonight’s game, which is currently underway, the pair will square off on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. at Tropicana Field. Tickets are still available in large quantities starting as low as $12 for upper level seats. Buy your ticket today and don’t miss a second of the action!

In one of their final Spring Training games, the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Red Sox 4-3. Brandon Guyer started the offense off strong with a single, which was followed quickly by Brad Miller with a double to get the Rays on the board. In the fifth inning, Mikie Mahtook had a two-run homer to bring the Rays' lead to 3-0, and then the Rays increased their lead to 4-0 when Miller had a homer in the sixth. Drew Smyly started on the mound and allowed no hits and no runs and had one walk and seven strike outs. The Rays play the Pirates on March 31, and you can still get tickets for $17.

The Tampa Bay Rays have officially started the preseason, meaning there is not much wait left for the official season to kick off. If you have been anxious to get back into the action, secure your spot in the stands of a preseason matchup. Your next opportunity will be on March 25st when they host the Minnesota Twins. Tickets start at just $18, but they may sell out soon. The excitement will really heat up on April 3rd for the season opener where the Rays host the Toronto Blue Jays. Tickets are still available, starting at $43. Help the Rays start the season right by cheering them to their first victory.

Great pitching, average hitting. Those are the four words that perhaps best sum up the Rays 2015 campaign. While star Evan Longoria was his usually dynamic self, with Kevin Kiermaier playing an excellent supporting role, the rest of the team struggled offensively. The starting pitching, led by Chris Archer, excelled, leading the AL in ERA. Offseason additions Brad Miller, Logan Morrison, and Hank Conger will be relied to provide some much needed pop at the middle and back of the lineup.
