St. Louis Cardinals News

An embarrassing loss is not what the St. Louis Cardinals were expecting as the race heats up for the MLB postseason. At this point, the Cards’ best hope was earning a Wild Card spot in the NL, and they need all the wins they can get. Tuesday’s 15-2 beating at the hand of the Cincinnati Reds was their worst loss of the year so far and was simply bad good timing for a team trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. St. Louis looks to redeem themselves with their last series of the regular season this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 30-Oct. 2) at home against the Pirates. Get loud at Busch Stadium and help out the Cardinals! Tickets are still available starting at only $7.

The St. Louis Cardinals are fighting tooth and nail to make it into the playoffs this year. Unfortunately, one of their last matchups before postseason play begins is against one of the toughest teams this year, the Chicago Cubs. On Monday night the Cardinals hit the field for their first game against the Chicago team. The Cubs were able to put a couple of runs up on the board early in the second and third inning, but the Cardinals weren’t able to answer to any of it offensively. The Cubs ran away with the 4-1 win over the Cardinals. See if they can turn their luck around when they face off again on September 14.

The St. Louis Cardinals have been chasing the Chicago Cubs all season in the NL Central. Now, as the season winds down, the chase is over. As of Sept. 8, the Cardinals were 73-66, 16 games behind Chicago. Though the Cardinals will fall short of a division title, the team has had some nice moments this season. St. Louis went 3-4 in its first seven games of September, picking up a pair of wins over Pittsburgh and one over Cincinnati. But the Cardinals also surrendered 12 runs in a seven-run loss to Milwaukee Sept. 8. The Cardinals now get a chance to host their nemesis Chicago for three consecutive games Sept. 12–14. You can get tickets to the first game for $10.

It’s been a lucky week for the St Louis Cardinals, who have been struggling with late-inning slumps in their last three games. After sending in the bullpen in the seventh to relieve Carlos Martinez on Monday, the Cardinals let the Brewers take over their lead. Things weren’t looking good until, luckily, a Milwaukee error in the top of the ninth allowed a score from Stephen Piscotty to put the Cards up 6-5 (also the final score). St Louis will head next to Cincinnati for a Sept. 2-4 series with the Reds and then to Pittsburgh for three games against the Pirates. All tickets can be purchased now for the best prices!

After snapping their three game winning streak with a 0-11 loss against the Marlins, the St. Louis Cardinals have been unable to get another victory. They lost by one the next night against the Marlins and then started a three game series against the Reds with another loss. It appeared as through they might have a chance to win in the game against the Reds when they went into the ninth inning ahead 5-4. However, the Reds scored three for a walk-off win. The two teams play twice more, and then the Cardinals head home to host the Braves for three starting on the 5. You can still get tickets for $16 and up.

The St. Louis Cardinals started their current series against the Padres off strong. Mike Leake was on the mound for six innings, striking out 11 and only allowing one run. Matt Holiday had a two RBI single in the fifth. In the sixth, Matt Adams, Aledmys Diaz and Stephen Piscotty all had RBI hits to score four runs. In the seventh inning, Randal Grichuck and Jedd Gyorko had back-to-back homers to help the Cardinals score three runs that inning. A homer from Piscotty rounded out the Cardinals' ten runs. The game on July 19th was delayed due to severe weather, and the two teams are scheduled to play on the 20 and 21 as well. Tickets are available starting at $2.

The St. Louis Cardinals swept their latest three game series against the Brewers over the Fourth of July weekend. On July 1, The Cardinals held the Brewers to just one run for a 7-1 victory. They shut out the Brewers the next night and scored three in the fourth to take the win. The third game was a close one, with the Brewers starting a rally in the ninth to get within one before the Cardinals shut them down. However, they were unable to keep the momentum going on Independence Day itself when they lost to the Pirates 2-4 in the first of four games. You can still get tickets to the games on the 5, 6 or 7 for prices starting at $2.

The St. Louis Cardinals broke their five game losing streak with a 3-2 win against the Cubs. Brandon Moss and Jhonny Peralto both had homers. Moss' homer got the Cardinals on the board in the second dinning, and an RBI single from Aledmys Diaz gave them another run that same inning. Peralta's homer came in the third inning, and the Cubs were able to get two runs that same inning to bring the game within one point. The Cardinals held on to the lead for the win. Jaime Garcia was on the mound and had six strickouts in his 6 2/3 innings. The two teams play again on the 21 and 22 in Chicago. You can still get tickets for $38 and up.

After being held to just one run off an error in the first of a three game series against the Giants, the St. Louis Cardinals won the next two games. The second game saw the Cardinals behind 4-0 going into the bottom of the fifth inning. Then, the Cardinals finally found their groove and scored four runs to tie the game, thanks in part to homers by Brandon Moss and Aledmys Diaz. The team scored three more to take the 7-4 victory. The Cardinals again came back from behind with a four run inning to win the third game against the Giants. They next play the Reds for three games starting on the 7. Tickets are available for $4 and up.

The St. Louis Cardinals are in one of the toughest divisions in the MLB this year. The Cardinals have an impressive 20-18 record, but are still in third place following the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs. The Cardinals are coming off of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers where the Cardinals were barely able to squeeze one win during their last matchup. See if they can recover from the last losing series when they hit the home plate against the Colorado Rockies this week. Get your tickets today to spruce up your mid-weeknight. Tickets are selling for as low as $2 apiece, so what are you waiting for?

The St. Louis Cardinals are picking up steam as the season barrels along, and now might be the best time to get cheap seats and see this team in action. The Cards have some ground to make up as the Chicago Cubs continue to look like the World Series favorites that some people believe them to be. The first month has been subpar for the Cardinals, and after winning four out of five, the Red Birds were just swept at home by the Washington Nationals. St. Louis will look to get things back on track when two NL West teams come to play, with the Rockies starting on May 17 and then the Diamondbacks on May 20. There are tickets for both series starting under $10.

Nothing makes you a team legend like being the superstar at your home opener, but that’s a pressure that Jeremy Hazelbaker more than welcomes. Hitting a triple on Monday’s game at Busch Stadium was especially pivotal for the rookie, who is playing his first Big League games for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards whipped the Brewers, beating team handily 10-1 in front of the second-largest crowd in team history. The three-game series against Atlanta wraps up Thursday, but St. Louis will continue the home streak this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 15-17) against the Reds. Come help the Cardinals on their way to another run for the Pennant by purchasing tickets today! Prices are affordable and start at less than $20.

The St. Louis Cardinals hit the road for their first game of the 2016-2017 season. They played against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 5, which turned out to be a very tight game. The Cardinals came out strong in the first three innings of the game, scoring five runs total. The Pirates didn’t let them run away with the lead though, scoring three runs of there own. It all came down to the bottom of the eleventh inning when the Pirates pulled in the winning run of the game for the 6-5 victory over the Cardinals. See the Cardinals take on the Pirates again on April 6. Tickets are still up for grabs so get yours before it is too late.

Lately there has been much talk in the baseball arena about one particular team: the Chicago Cubs. Everyone seems to think this could finally be their year to go all the way, but not if rivals the St. Louis Cardinals have anything to say about it. Matt Holliday says it doesn’t matter what the hype is, “You’ve got to go out and play.” The Cardinals aren’t buying into any notions that this could be the year their rivals take home the prize, and you can expect them to continue playing with that mentality as well. St. Louis will kick off the 2016 season at home on Monday, April 11 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

With eight preseason wins and just six losses, it looks like the St. Louis Cardinals may be in for an exciting season this year. Fans have less than three weeks to wait for the action to start. The season opener is on April 3rd, but the Cardinals are going to have their first home game on April 11th against the Milwaukee Brewers. Tickets for that matchup are still available, starting at $104. It is sure to be an exciting game, however, so tickets may sell out soon. Secure your spot in the stands so you can show your support and cheer the Cardinals on to their first victory of the season.
