St. Louis Cardinals News

Although it is still early in the season, the St. Louis Cardinals are starting to look like serious playoff contenders. They are first in the National League Central Division with a record of 18-14. Six of those wins have come in their last seven games. Tuesday’s meeting with the Miami Marlins was especially impressive, as the Cardinals claimed the victory on the road with a close 6-5 result. They also managed to shut out the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park last Friday. St. Louis will get a true test of strength this weekend when they host the 2016 World Champions and their bitter rivals, the Chicago Cubs. Tickets to Saturday’s game are $30 and up.

The St. Louis Cardinals had a hard time figuring out Pirates pitcher Chad Kuhl on April 18, and the Red Birds only managed to get four hits on the day. Fortunately, two of those hits drove in runs and Mike Leake was able to hold the Pirates to one run during his seven innings of work. The 2-1 Cardinals victory wasn’t pretty, but it was much needed as St. Louis looks to shake off some early-season rust. The Cardinals will face another team that’s struggling to find its stride when the Blue Jays come to town on April 25. Tickets for that opening game are available starting as low as $2.
