New York Mets News

The New York Mets may have already locked up their appearance in the 2016 MLB Playoffs, but they certainly aren’t acting like they’re on top. After just winning a three-game sweep against the visiting Minnesota Twins, the Mets followed up their impressive victories with three back-to-back losses against the Atlanta Braves. Two of those losses were particularly brutal, as they were determined by just one run. Come cheer New York on as they close out their regular season this weekend. They will take on the Philadelphia Phillies in a final four-game clash. Tickets to the game on Saturday, September 24 are currently on sale and available for $16 and up.

Everything was going the New York Mets way when they started the month of September. They won their first five games in a row and finally took a loss against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. They were able to come back from that loss and defeat the Braves the very next day, 10-3. Unfortunately, the winning didn’t continue when they started their four-game series against the Washington Nationals. On Monday night, the Nationals took it to the Mets, beating them 8-1. The Nationals started the game out strong, scoring all eight of their runs in the first four innings. See if the Mets can recover when they play the Nationals again on September 14. Technically speaking, the New York Mets are still in the hunt for a berth in the MLB playoffs, but the team from the Big Apple has a lot of work to do. Plus, the Mets will need some teams in front of them to slip up. As of Sept. 8, New York was in second place in the NL East with a 74-66 record. The Mets were a full eight games behind division leader Washington at this point, meaning the team had better hope a long winning streak is in store if it can even hope for a possible playoff run. The Mets won five straight games Sept. 3–7 to help with this effort. New York next faces Washington Sept. 12–14.

Usually when you think about a New York baseball team known for making it to the playoffs, you think of the Yankees. This year, we may all be talking about the New York Mets. The team is currently second in the National League East, putting them in a great position to make the postseason next month. In fact, the Mets made a big statement this week when they swept the visiting Miami Marlins, all but dashing the visitors’ hopes of their own run for the World Series. Now, New York will shift attention to the Washington Nationals. Catch the two playoff contenders in action tomorrow through Sunday. Tickets are $5 and up.

After losing the first game in a three game series against the Diamondbacks, the New York Mets won the second on August 16. The Diamondbacks scored first, but then the Mets had a four run fifth inning followed by a three run sixth to help with the 7-5 win. In the fifth inning, Rene Rivera and Curtis Granderson had sacrifice flies, while Noah Syndergaard had a two-run homer. In the sixth, Kelly Johnson had a homer, Alejandro De Aza had an RBI double and Jose Reyes had an RBI single. After playing the Diamondbacks once more on the 17, the Mets head to San Francisco to play the Giants in a four-game series. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $5.

After losing by one in a 10-inning game against the Yankees, the New York Mets came back the next night and dominated to win 7-1. Jay Bruce had his debut for the Mets, although he was unable to get a hit. Alejandro de Aza had a two-run homer and Travis d'Arnault also hit a home run. The Mets really shined in the seventh, where they scored four runs thanks to RBI hits from Michael Conforto, Matt Reynolds, Yoenis Cespedes and Neil Walker. The two rivals play twice more on the 3 and 4, and then the Mets head to Detroit to play the Tigers for three starting on the 5. Tickets remain available for prices starting at $68.

The New York Mets went 2-1 in their latest three game series against the Phillies that started on July 15. The Mets were able to win the first game, despite the Phillies rallying in the sixth. The next night, the Mets had an early 2-1 lead. However, the Phillies got a few single runs to end the game ahead 4-2. The Mets left no doubt as to who would be the winner in game 3, shutting out the Phillies and scoring five of their own. Jacob deGrom was on the mound and only allowed one hit. The Mets fell in their first game against the Cubs. The two teams play again on the 19 and 20, with ticket prices starting at $95.

The New York Mets are on a roll, winning their last five games in a row. On July 4, the Mets beat the Marlins in the first of a three game series. The Marlins had an early lead, but the Mets fought back with an eight-run rally to win. Curtis Granderson and Travis d'Arnaud both had homers. The rally started in the fourth with d'Arnaud's homer, and the Mets continued to score one or two runs per inning until Yoenis Cespedes had a two-run double in the eighth to give them the lead. The two teams play on the 5 and 6 and then the Mets host the Nationals starting on the 7. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $24.

Following two wins against the Pirates, the New York Mets lost their next three games to the Braves. After falling 5-1 in the first game, the Mets held their own in game two. The Mets scored a run in the third inning and two in the fourth for a 3-0 lead. However, the Braves started scoring in the fifth and the Mets were unable to stop them from equalizing and eventually taking the lead for a final score of 4-3. The Mets were shutout in game three. They will look to add some more wins when they host the Royals for two games on the 21 and 22. You can still get tickets for $10 and up.

The New York Mets started off their latest three game series against the Marlins strong. They beat them 6-2 in the first game on June 3. The next night, the Mets were again able to rack up six runs and held the Marlins to just four. However, the Mets’ bats were unable to find the same success on the third night. They were shut out and the Marlins scored one run to win the game. The Mets next play the Pirates for a three game series. The first game was postponed on the 6, leading to a double header on the 7 and the final game on the 8. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $15.

The New York Mets are working hard to climb the NL East ladder this season. Currently they are sitting in second place and falling only one game behind the first place team, the Nationals. This week the Mets happen to be playing against the Nationals, which are their biggest competition thus far. The first game of the three-game series was held on May 17 and the Mets were able to come away with the win. This game not only helped the Mets creep up further to the number one spot, but it was huge because it ended their four game losing streak. See if they can keep up the good work when they play the Nationals again on May 18.

After a red-hot stretch from April 17–30 where they went 11-1, the New York Mets have cooled off a bit. Still, the Mets ended a May 4 series with Atlanta with a 17-9 record, good enough for second place in the National League East. The Mets hope the road is kind to them, as they embarked on an 11-day, 11-game trip to San Diego, Los Angeles, and Colorado before finally getting back home to face the Washington Nationals on May 17. Tickets are available started at $15. The Mets and Nationals square off May 18 and 19 as well. New York then hosts Milwaukee May 20, 21, and 22.

Following a run for the World Series title in 2015, the New York Mets have started this season somewhat flat. With four losses in a row, the Mets haven’t won since their home opening on Thursday when they beat the Phillies 7-2. The rest of the series went poorly, as did the beginning of the run against Marlins early this week. After a day off Thursday, the Mets are hoping to regain some footing in Cleveland this weekend. They’ll continue the road trip in Philly early next week before returning home against the Reds April 25-27. Despite the disappointing start, there’s still a lot of ball left to be played. Get your tickets to cheer on the Mets at Citi Field from us today!

The New York Mets hit the green grass against the Kansas City Royals this week for their first game of the season. For all Mets fans and the team alike, the 2-0 win over the Royals was a relief and possibly a sign of what the future beholds. The highlight player of the game was Noah Syndergaard, the Mets pitcher. He is one of the youngest, most talented pitchers in the league and he showed off his talents on Tuesday night. Get tickets for the home opener being held on April 8 against the Philadelphia Phillies. Tickets are still up for grabs to see the star pitcher and his team live and start at $67 each.

The New York Mets are just about ready for Opening Day! Pitcher Matt Harvey and the rest of the team have been blazing through Spring Training and looking good while doing it. In fact, Harvey was recently featured on Forbes for his fashionable peak lapel suits and sports jackets. He also spoke about the 2016, saying the Mets were busy preparing for a rare clash with the Toronto Blue Jays. New York will play their first game of the season at home on Friday, April 8 against the Philadelphia Phillies. Tickets are already on sale and available for purchase starting at $103 and up. Don’t miss the 2016 season kickoff!

It is nearly time for the New York Mets to take the field again in an all new season. Fans are just three weeks away, but they can still catch the Mets in action during the preseason. Right now, the Mets have won six and lost six preseason games. Come out and show your support as they get ready for the real thing. Tickets for the next home game, on March 20th against the Boston Red Sox, start at $37. Be sure to get your tickets for the home opener on April 8th against the Philadelphia Phillies now.
