The spring is notorious for a lot of things—seasonal allergies, beautiful flowers and a break from the cold winter weather, for example. To baseball fans, however, none of those things matter. The start of spring means that the MLB Opening Day is quickly approaching, marking the end of the dreaded offseason and spring training! The first official day of MLB play is Sunday, April 3, with several key matchups. The Royals will host the Mets, the Blue Jays will head to Tampa Bay and the St. Louis Cardinals will be at the Pittsburgh Pirates. Can you believe we’re just a few weeks away from MLB Opening Day? It’s true! All of your favorite teams are rapidly wrapping up with spring training and are ready to head home to take the field. Most teams will start the 2016 season on Monday, April 4, however a select few will start a day early on Sunday, April 3. Those teams are the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, and Kansas City Royals. The Pirates will take on the St. Louis Cardinals. Tampa Bay will face the Toronto Blue Jays. 2/26/16 - Before you know it, February and March will be over, and the early spring months will be beginning. The start of April brings a lot of great things, including more sun, outdoor events, and MLB Opening Day. Catch your favorite team playing live for their opening game starting on April 3. The very first game of the season will occur between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates on that Sunday.
