It’s been a week of the good, the bad and the ugly for the 20-45 Minnesota Twins. The struggling American League team started the week out strong with a series win over Miami. That weekend, however, the luck didn’t last and the Twins didn’t look great against the Red Sox, but things really went south when they lost yet another series to the Angels, including a 10-2 beating on Wednesday. Minnesota looks to regroup this week and will have the home field advantage against the next two opponents. This weekend, the Yankees will be in town for a four-game run that will end Sunday. After a day off, the Phillies will have a chance to take on the Twins at Target Field.

It is a tough time to be a Minnesota Twins fan. The struggling team has won just one game out of their last eight, bringing them down to an overall record of 11-34. They are currently eligible to be swept by the visiting Kansas City Royals and defending World Champions after yesterday’s loss of 4-7. After this series, Minnesota will try their luck on the road against the Seattle Mariners. They will need every bit of confidence they can muster before heading to Seattle, so be there today to cheer them on against Kansas City. Tickets are still available and can be purchased for prices starting as low as $7.

The Minnesota Twins decided to switch up their batting order Tuesday night against the Orioles, giving the first at bat to first baseman Joe Mauer. After being outscored 44-21 in the previous six games, manager Paul Molitor thinks Mauer’s stellar on-base percentage and his team-leading batting average might just be what the Twins need to shake things up. “I’m going to try to have good at-bats tonight like I normally would,” the first baseman commented about taking the lead role. Minnesota will face the next two series on the road against the Indians and the Tigers. They’ll be back at Target Field on May 19 to face the Blue Jays.

Although the Minnesota Twins were unable to avoid a sweep in their recent road series against the Washington Nationals, they did managed to snap their general losing streak last night. In their homecoming against the Cleveland Indians, the Twins managed to outscore the visiting team 4-3 with a thrilling finish in the bottom of the ninth inning. Cleveland scored a third run in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game, however Minnesota was able to avoid extra innings with a single run in the bottom of the ninth. It was the exclamation point on a much-needed victory. Their next game against the Indians is tonight. We still have tickets available for $4 and up.

As Opening Day quickly approaches, the Minnesota Twins are feeling good about their chances of making the post-season for the first time in six years. In their penultimate Spring Training game, the Twins beat the Blue Jays 4-3. Ervin Santana started on the mound and lasted for 4 1/3 innings and only allowed three runs off of six hits. He had three strikeouts and two walks. Danny Santanta helped out by getting two RBIS and three hits. Oswaldo Arcia had a one-out RBI single that was the game-winning run. On March 31, the Twins play the Red Sox in their final Spring Training game and then play the Nationals in two exhibition games. You can still get tickets for $6 and up.
