The Detroit Tigers have all but solidified their post-season appearance next month, especially after their most recent series. They hosted the Chicago White Sox this week, managing to win all three matches and earn the sweep. The wins didn’t come easy, however, as the White Sox took the early lead in yesterday’s game. Chicago was up 2 - 0 in the top of the fifth inning, but Detroit managed to come surging back with three runs of their own. The Tigers will have a real test of them now through next Friday, as they will hit the road to the Royals and White Sox. Tickets to the next home game on September 9 are $8 and up.

The Detroit Tigers have lost the first two of three games against the Royals. During game 1, the Royals were ahead 2-0 going into the seventh inning. J.D. Martinez homered to bring the game within one, but the Royals ultimately won 3-1. Game 2 had a similar story. Jarrod Saltalamacchia homered in the fifth to get the game within one, but it was not enough and the Royals ultimately won 6-1. The Tigers host the Royals for one more game and then host the Red Sox for four games starting on the 18. After that, they head to Minnesota to play the Twins starting on the 23. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $5.

After going 2-2 against the White Sox, the Detroit Tigers opened a three game series against the Red Sox with a win. Justin Verlander was on the mound, allowing just one earned run in his six innings of play. Jose Iglesias had a two-run homer in the top of the sixth to get the Tigers ahead 2-1. James McCann had an RBI single in the seventh and Victor Martinez had one in the eighth to secure the victory. The two teams play twice more on the 26 and 27 before the Tigers head home to host the Astros for three games starting on the 29. Tickets are still available for prices starting at $23.

The Detroit Tigers broke a three game losing streak with a win against the Marlins in the first of a two game series. The Marlins had an early 3-0 lead, and then the Tigers finally found their groove at the bottom of the fifth, during which they scored seven runs. Jose Iglesias kicked it off with a two run homer. Then, Miguel Cabrera had a three run homer, followed by a two run homer by Nick Castellanos. That inning was all it took for the Tigers to win the game. The two teams meet again on June 29, and then the Tigers head to Tampa Bay to play the Rays starting on the 30. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $6.

The Detroit Tigers proved on Thursday night that they aren’t afraid to take on the reigning World Champions on their turf. Detroit visited Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City to play the Royals, and they left the home crowd absolutely stunned. They didn’t just beat Kansas City; they walloped them 10 – 4. Even more impressive was that the Tigers were able to remain calm after a 2 – 0 deficit in the bottom of the first inning and rally to get the come-from-behind win. It was a nightmare for the home crowd. Catch Detroit when they return home on Monday, June 20 to host the Seattle Mariners. Tickets are $8 and up.

The Detroit Tigers are on a roll and have won their past two games. The first victory was close, with the Tigers leading 5-1 going into the eighth inning. This lead was largely due to a four run seventh inning, which saw a two run homers by James McCann and J.D. Martinez. The Rays scored three in the eighth to get close, but the Tigers retained their lead. The Tigers came back the next night to win 9-4 and take the series 2-1. They host the Phillies for a three game series starting on the 23, during which they will work to retain their winning ways. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $3.

The Detroit Tigers were able to snap their seven-game losing streak last night! After getting swept in back to back series against the Cleveland Indians on the road and Texas Rangers at home, Detroit has finally managed to avoid a sweep against the Washington Nationals. The victory was a much-needed sigh of relief for Tigers’ fans, who haven’t had a reason to be happy since the season started in April. Detroit edged out the Nationals 5-4 after a brief scare in the bottom of the seventh inning. They will play the Nats one more time before heading to Baltimore for a series with the Orioles. Their next home game is May 16 against the Twins. Tickets are $2.

The Detroit Tigers looked fantastic last night as they kicked off a new series against the Oakland Athletics. They ultimately defeated the A’s 7-3, thanks in part to four unanswered runs in the fourth inning. The Tigers looked strong from the start, tacking on individual runs in the first and second innings. In fact, the Athletics’ only runs came in the sixth and seventh innings. This is the first game in a series of four, so be sure to come cheer on the Tigers for the chance to sweep the visiting team! The two teams will square off again tomorrow night at Comerica Park. Tickets are available starting as low as $3.

One of the last of the Detroit Tigers' Spring Training games this season was rained out. In the game against the Blue Jays, Victor Martinez was back for the first time in two weeks after dealing with a hamstring strain. With Opening Day just a few days away, the Tigers are starting to figure out their final roster with which to start the season. They chose to option Wynton Bernard to Triple-A Toledo and chose to trade Bryan Holaday for Bobby Wilson and Myles Jaye. They also resigned Bobby Parnell and Casey McGehee to Minor League deals this week. The Tigers' season will start away, and their home opener will be against the Yankees on April 8. You can still get tickets for $87 and up.

The Detroit Tigers made some changes to their Spring Training roster when they optioned Michael Fulmer to Toledo's Triple A team. In the latest Spring Training game, the Tigers beat the Cardinals 5-4. Mike Pelfrey started on the mound and had five shutout innings despite struggling early. J.D. Martinez brought in Miguel Cabrera on his double, and Cabrera scored again, this time on a home run, in the third inning. Nate Schierholtz and JaCoby Jones also hit home runs for the Tigers. The Tigers play the Cardinals again on Friday, March 18, and you can still get tickets for this game and the rest of Spring Training for prices starting at $22.

Will the Tigers Beat the Predictions of the Sports Analysts?
After four excellent seasons, beginning in 2011, when the Tigers clinched the division title, 2015 was disappoint. Detroit may have finished last in the AL Central division, but the team’s batting average was .270, the best in the league. Early predictions in 2016 don’t seem to think that the Tigers can make it back on top, but the team has made changes to fix some its issues.

The pitching staff was cited as the reason the 2015 team lost. The Tigers brought on Jordan Zimmermann, who pitched a no-hitter in 2014 for the Washington Nationals. Now that Justin Verlander isn’t struggling with an injury, he should be a force to be reckoned with the entire season. Anibel Sanchez was also sidelined with an injury last season, and he looks to be healthy again and ready to pitch.
