After being shut out in back to back games for the first time ever in postseason history the Chicago Cubs broke out in a big way last night in their massive game 4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Anthony Rizzo finally broke his slump with a homerun and three RBI. Addison Russell added a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The series will be returning to Wrigley Field for a game 6 on Saturday. Game 5 is being played today at Dodger Stadium. Said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, “It happens, but we haven’t had a game like that in a long time. You’ve got to brush off and get ready for tomorrow.” Kenta Maeda will take the mound for the Dodgers while Chicago will counter with Jon Lester. Maeda, who’s struggled this postseason, said of his approach to tonight’s game, “I’m not going to be too careful even though I haven’t been pitching well in the postseason. What I’m going to be really focused on is just pitching well and not worry too much about what I have done in the past.”

Jake Arrieta will be the pitcher for the Chicago Cubs as game 3 of the NLDS takes place tonight at Dodger Stadium. Arrieta is very comfortable in Los Angeles considering when he last played there he pitched a no-hitter. Arrieta stated in regards to his starts, “You try to tackle them accordingly. Use some knowledge that I have from the past to kind of help. But it’s just another game on a big stage, and we’re all prepared for it.” Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley on Arrieta, “We know he’s tough. He’s got electric stuff. For every good pitcher, you try to capitalize on their mistakes. They all make mistakes, some more than others, and you have to try to be ready for those mistakes and try to take advantage of those.” Rich Hill will take the mound for the Dodgers as the winner of this game will end up taking a 2-1 lead in the series.

If we make a mistake, we’re not going to blame it on a curse or anything else like that.”
