Arizona Diamondbacks News

At 17-12, the Arizona Diamondbacks are happily in second place in the NL West, just behind the Rockies. Heading into this week’s series with the No. 1 Washington Nationals, Arizona knew they had to score at key moments and play excellent defense. Tuesday’s contest went according to plan, with the D-backs stopping the Nationals 6-3. Wednesday’s performance was a little different, however, as the Diamondbacks failed to score in key moments and lost 2-1. Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday. After that, Arizona takes a trip to Colorado for three against the Rockies before returning to Chase Field in Phoenix on Tuesday, May 9, against Detroit. Purchase tickets today and you’ll pay just $13 and up.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have only good things to say about Robbie Ray’s performance from the mound Tuesday against the Giants. With several shutout innings, Ray threw 111 pitches, 67 of which were strikes to help the D-backs to a 4-3 victory over San Francisco. At No. 1 in the NL West, Arizona is now 7-2 and looking strong at the start of the season. They’ll hit the road in the next week or so, hitting up Dodger Stadium for a four-game stint this weekend (April 14-17) and Petco Park early next week (April 18-20) to take on the Padres. The Diamondbacks return to Chase Field on Friday, April 21, against the Dodgers. Tickets can be purchased now for $19.
