Head-to-Head: Georgia vs Auburn, South Carolina vs Florida, Oklahoma State vs Texas, Penn State vs Ohio State, Oregon vs California

This weekend's slate of big games includes one of the top teams in the BCS, as #2 Auburn hosts Georgia. It has not been a good year for the new mascot, Uga VIII, as the Bulldogs can only hope to play SEC spoiler. This year they currently stand 5-5 overall, 3-4 in SEC play, and are coming off a non-conference win last weekend, a 55-7 trouncing of FCS opponent Idaho State.

The Bulldogs' top rusher is Washaun Ealey, who has collected 589 yards and eight touchdowns to date. Their passing game has been somewhat more dangerous; Aaron Murray has thrown for 2,307 yards and 18 touchdowns. His favorite receivers, A.J. Green and Kris Durham, have accounted for half of those scores; Green leads the team in receiving with seven TDs and 510 yards. Overall, however, the Bulldogs rank 54th in the country in total offense; Auburn is 6th, so Georgia's defense (15th in the nation in total defense) will have to come up big for the Dogs to be competitive.

Other significant SEC tilts include the Ol' Ball Coach, Steve Spurrier, taking his South Carolina team down to Gainesville to take on his old school, the Florida Gators, in a key East Division matchup; and Mississippi State travels to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama.

Similar to last week, the Big 12 has a must-watch game on tap, as Texas takes on South Division leaders Oklahoma State in Austin. The Cowboys need to maintain their winning ways if they want to find themselves in the Big 12 Championship game, while Texas has been struggling of late, having lost three straight. The Longhorns are 4-5 overall, 2-4 in conference play.

Other games of note around the country: Ohio State returns to action in Columbus, as 400-game winner Joe Paterno and his Penn State squad visit the Shoe; California hopes to trip up the Oregon Ducks in Berkeley; Texas Christian heads to San Diego State; and Central Florida takes its first ever AP ranking (#25) into their Conference USA tilt against Southern Mississippi.
