Miami Heating Up With NBA Playoffs in Sight
With eight wins in their last 11 contests, the Miami Heat are making a late-season push for home court advantage in this year’s NBA playoffs. With just over 25 games left on the regular season slate, Dwyane Wade and company find themselves in fourth place, just a game ahead of Indiana in the Eastern standings. A finish outside of the top four at the season’s end means starting the playoffs on the road, which can be the difference between advancing and elimination in such a hotly-contested conference.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra had led Miami to six straight postseason trips, including back-to-back championships 2011-12 and 2012-13. A roster shakeup and key injuries kept the Heat out of the postseason mix last year, but notable additions have revived the franchise in 2016. Goran Dragic was brought in to lead an up-tempo offense, which thrives in large part thanks to versatile forwards Luol Deng and Gerald Green. Fourth-year center Hassan Whiteside has also started to develop into a truly imposing interior presence, averaging a double-double through the first two-thirds of the season.

Whether they finish in the top four or simply the top eight, one thing’s for sure: American Airlines Arena will be a tough place for visiting teams to notch victories in the postseason. Keep it tuned to Razorgator for the best prices on your Miami Heat playoff tickets!
