OAR - Of A Revolution Tickets

The members of jam band OAR, short for Of A Revolution, may have met in college more than two decades ago, but they have come a long way from their humble dorm days at Ohio State University. Now, Chris Culos, Marc Roberge, Richard On, Jerry De Pizzo, and Benj Gershman are famous for creating classic songs that moved a generation, like “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker,” “Shattered,” and “Love and Memories.” Fortunately, you can catch these icons from the 1990s and beyond when they take the stage of a venue near you this summer. Razorgator has all your OAR concerts covered with tickets to shows around the country.

OAR Tour News and Updates

It’s here! The next tour from OAR is officially kicking off on May 20 at the Express Live! venue in Columbus, Ohio. Adding to the excitement is news of a brand new album to accompany the trek. Both the record and the tour are titled XX and will be a great way to help you make the most of the summer season. The album release date is set for Aug. 5 and, according to the band, you can expect it to include songs both new and old and also include live and studio recorded tracks. While you may have to wait a bit for the new album, the live shows start this week! Tickets for Friday’s concert are available now for $54.

Rockers O.A.R. (Of A Revolution) formed in the mid-90s in the appropriately named city of Rockville in Maryland. Unlike other bands, OAR has managed to stay together across a prolific career and seven studio albums, with all original members: Marc Roberge (vocals), Chris Culos (drums), Richard On (guitar), Benj Gershman (bass) and Jerry DePizzo (multi-instrumentalist). OAR initially gained a loyal following of alt-rockers as an Ohio State student band, but a reputation fostered by amazing live shows played on the college campus circuit stretched their fanbase far beyond college parameters.

In true old-school marketing fashion, OAR became one of the most popular/shared bands on Napster purely via word-of-mouth. Their fame exploded into mainstream when they signed to Lava Record in 2005 and dropped chart-shattering singles "Love and Memories" from Stories of a Strangers, and later, "Shattered" from 2008's All Sides. OAR is heralded as "one of the best live bands on the planet" (Contact Music) and offers an authentic rock sound with a unique flair of interspersed roots and reggae.

The band will release their forthcoming eighth studio effort later this year and will be touring in support of it across 42 dates! American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will be on the road with the "That Was a Crazy Game of Poker" singers for 26 of those performances: kicking things off June 12 in St Louis and wrapping up in Atlanta on July 26. Catch OAR on a solo trek of the West Coast beginning April 24 in Las Vegas (three-night stay 4/24-4/26), with ten dates in California (including three shows each in Los Angeles 5/2-5/4 and in San Francisco 5/9-5/11), before hitting Portland (5/14) and ending in Seattle (5/15). Get OAR tickets and experience this legendary must-see band live!
