Backstreet Boys Tour News and Updates
2014 In A World Like This Tour
The Backstreet Boys won the hearts of moms and daughters across the world when they emerged out of Orlando, FL in the nineties. The perennial boyband of our age first grew to fame in Canada and Europe and did not achieve superstardom in the US until the dawn of the 21st century--alongside teen pop artists like 'N Sync and Britney Spears. Comprised of Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson, the harmonists combine pop, R&B, soul and dance into irresistible songs. While their eponymous debut album yielded hits like "We've Got It Goin On" and "Quit Playin Games (With My Heart)," it wasn't until Millennium and mega-hit "I Want It That Way" that the group reached unprecedented fame.
Their worldwide success is palpable in the fact that Millennium holds the record for most shipments in one year (over 11 million), went platinum 13 times and their subsequent contract was one of the largest deals ever made at Jive Records. Their next studio album, Black and Blue, sold 1.6 million in its first week, making them the first artists to achieve consecutive million plus sales since The Beatles. In sum, the Backstreet Boys have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them the top-selling boyband of all time. After 7 straight years of touring and recording, the group decided it was time for a hiatus: McLean beat his battle with addiction and Richardson pursued other interests.
Looking to jump back into music, BSB embarked on a popular joint tour with other boyband veterans New Kids on The Block, and welcomed the return of member Kevin Richardson. Last year the Backstreet Boys celebrated their 20th anniversary with the release of eighth studio effort, In a World Like This, with an accompanying documentary and huge tour that featured all five members. Now is your chance to hear all you favorite Backstreet Boys songs new and old, from "Larger Than Life" to "Incomplete," when they embark on a co-headlining tour with pop-rock princess Avril Lavigne this year! Backstreet Boys tickets are always some of the hottest on the market, so lock yours in ASAP!
