Alice Cooper Tour News and Updates
Alice Cooper is the quintessential rock star. Born Vincent Furnier, “The Godfather of Shock Rock” spearheaded the controversial Alice Cooper quintet before eventually taking the group’s name as his own. Through over-the-top stage shows laced with vaudeville, horror film antics and macabre elements, Alice Cooper invented an entirely new genre dubbed “shock rock.” Named for the awe-inducing effect it has on audience members, heavy metal, glam rock and shock-rockers like Kiss, the New York Dolls and Ozzy Osbourne--as well as modern rockers like Green Day, Guns n’ Roses and Marilyn Manson--are all indebted to Alice Cooper’s style, theatricality and sound.
Alice Cooper broke out in the early 1970s with tracks “I’m Eighteen” and “School’s Out,” culminating with the 1973 album Billion Dollar Babies. Furnier was the charismatic mastermind of the group, whose soaring vocals highlight the classic rock anthems while his androgynous image became iconic for performers everywhere. The band was dissolve in 1975, leaving Furnier to utilize the popular stage handle and begin a successful solo career initiating with concept album Welcome to My Nightmare.
Rolling Stone considers him the world’s most “beloved hard rock entertainer” and his game-changing persona forever shaped the attitude of rock music. He’s been in the business for over 40 years, has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and still revels playing Alice Cooper, the horror character made up in thick black eyeliner, bleeding mascara and gender-bending costume. Now is your chance to see this innovative musician with Alice Cooper tickets. The spooky rock god will hit the road alongside Motley Crue, on the bands final tour in 2014.
