With the NCAA Football regular season over and the selection process finalized, we’ve got our bowl games set for the end of 2019 and early 2020. Yep, all 39 of them! But most importantly, there are four teams in the running for the final championship trophy – LSU, Oklahoma, Clemson, and Ohio State all made the cut for the College Football Playoffs, and it really wasn’t even close. (Sorry, Alabama fans.) Here’s a breakdown of the games set for December 28th, what to expect, and where you can buy cheap NCAA Football tickets to the playoffs and the championship game in New Orleans!

LSU Tigers (No. 1) vs. Oklahoma Sooners (No. 4)
LSU flip-flopped with Ohio State for the number-one spot over the last several weeks, but after beating Georgia 37-10 this weekend for the SEC Championship, the Tigers have clinched it. With heavy Heisman favorite Joe Burrow leading the team at quarterback, LSU’s offense is scary good, and this team looks confident going into the postseason. It’s no wonder – they beat Alabama, Florida, Auburn, and Texas this season. Their defense might be the Tigers’ only weak spot… but most sports experts say that’s old news. LSU’s defense has steadily improved since the fall. For examples, see cornerback Derek Stingley’s two interceptions on Saturday and the first-round draft pick that is safety Grant Delpit.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma Sooners finished off their season by beating Baylor in overtime this weekend. They also had a little help from Utah, who fell to Oregon on Friday night, losing a chance at the playoffs and giving Oklahoma the number-four seed. Head Coach Lincoln Riley leads the Sooners’ offense with former Alabama QB Jalen Hurts, who has personal experience beating LSU with the Crimson Tide (three times, in fact). But the Oklahoma defense is going to need to step up big time in order to stop Burrow and the Tigers. And it would be great if Hurts could stop throwing interceptions – he’s got seven picks in his final five games with the Sooners.

Ohio State Buckeyes (No. 2) vs. Clemson Tigers (No. 3)
Honestly, this could be the championship game. Ohio State made a comeback in a tough game against the Wisconsin Badgers this weekend to win 34-21. While the Buckeyes didn’t look their best in that matchup, there’s a reason this team is the number-two seed in college football. Quarterback Justin Fields can run the ball as well as throw it, JK Dobbins is an incredible running back, and the team itself is legitimately deep enough to make up two different ranked teams. After winning its third straight Big 10 Championship despite a flawed game, they’ll go on to play their fourth-ever bowl game against Clemson… in hopes of getting their first W against them.
The Clemson Tigers need no introduction. The reigning College Football Champions are still on a 28-game winning streak after beating UVA for the ACC Championship this weekend (their fifth straight appearance in that game, BTW). No, the ACC wasn’t that great this year, but the Tigers have had no trouble at all racking up victory after victory this season. After a one-point scare against UNC, they’ve beaten every team by at least 30 points. It feels weird that Clemson isn’t ranked higher, but according to head coach Dabo Swinney, his team is held to a different standard by CFP voters. Swinney is currently taking that “disrespect” from the committee and using it as motivation for his team. Fair or not, Clemson will have probably their toughest game yet this season against the Buckeyes.
Clemson is led by QB Trevor Lawrence, who hasn’t exploded quite as expected this season after an outstanding freshman performance. The Tigers’ rushing game is insane, however, and running back Travis Etienne has over 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns. Lawrence thinks his team is better than it was a year ago… when it won the College Football Championship by destroying Alabama. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Ohio State may have the best defensive line in the nation, so it’ll be interesting to see how this one shakes out in Arizona!
