About the 3M Open & TPC Twin Cities
The inaugural 3M Open, a PGA Tour stop and Fedex Cup series event, is being held at TPC Twin Cities. The course is located in the suburb of Blaine, Minnesota, less than a 30-minute drive from Minneapolis. This 18-hole affair was designed by Arnold Palmer with a par of 72 and a respect for nature. Keep an eye out for holes #6, 7, 9, and 14 – there are massive bunkers, doglegs, and a loon-filled lake involved.
The 3M Open replaces the 3M Championship, a 26-year-old event that has been held at TPC Twin Cities since 2001. The course has gone through a bit of a revamp over the past year so it’s now got a par of 71. This is a consistently a low-scoring tournament, with the past two winners having final scores of 20-under or lower.
The purse for the 3M Open is $6.4 million, with $1.152 million going to the first-place winner (that’s the standard 18% PGA cut). The runner-up will receive $700,000.

3M Open Odds & Players to Watch
Brooks Koepka, Jason Day, and Hideki Matsyama have the best odds to win the 3M Open, but you really just never know. (Look what happened at the Travelers Championship. None of the favorites finished in the top five!) Koepka is always in the mix. Matsyama hasn’t missed a cut in over a year, plus he’s got five straight top-25 appearances. Many experts are backing Day, despite the fact that he hasn’t snagged a win in 14 months. He does have six appearances in the top 10 so far though…
Fan favorite Phil Mickelson will be there, along with England’s Patrick Reed. Reed might actually be a good choice for anybody out there betting on golf with his exciting 28-1 odds.

Other things going on (besides golf)
If you’re headed to the 3M Open this weekend, you can (and should) follow around your favorite players and join in the excitement of the tournament. But there will be plenty of other things to do too! You can check out the Fan Zone, the merch shop, the wine garden, the 3M Social Club, and more! And there’s more than just golf going on this weekend at TPC Twin Cities. You can find a host of military appreciation events happening Tuesday through Friday. In fact, if you’re active or retired military or a military veteran, you can receive free tournament entry – just show your military ID!
It’s not always silent in the world of golf either! On July 5th, Zac Brown Band will be playing a concert for fans who stick around after the tournament. It’s presented by the 3M Open Fund and you can get tickets with your donation of $100. Get your tickets here and check out the concert – followed by fireworks – this weekend!
