University of Phoenix Stadium

The University of Phoenix Stadium is the home to the Arizona Cardinals. This is the first time the Cardinals have their own stadium to call home. Featuring over 72,000 seats, this full-event ready stadium is located in Glendale, Arizona. Join your team in person this season!

The first game played by the Cardinals in this stadium was a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 12, 2006.

The stadium sits on about 28 acres of land. This venue has a retractable roof. The natural-grass playing field sits on a big tray that weighs over 18 million pounds. It is the first completely retractable field in North America. A total of 462 steel wheels, riding on 13 parallel steel rails are used to slide the field tray in and out of the venue.

This modern stadium look portrays the 21st Century with its architectural structure. Besides football, it has hosted soccer, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament regional games. During the first month of its opening, the facility was known as Cardinals Stadium. In September 2006, the University of Phoenix purchased the naming rights.

Football at its best is awaiting you at the University of Phoenix stadium. What are you waiting for? Take the entire family to watch and cheer on your team. Buy your tickets today for all events at this great venue!
