Home to the New York Knicks and Rangers, Madison Square Garden is located in New York City at 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, just above Penn Station and next to One Penn Plaza. The Garden offers over 19,700 seats for basketball and 18,000 seats for ice hockey games.
There are six different ascending levels. The first level is only available for basketball games and concerts. The next level is the loge seating area. Next, there are three different promenade levels. The 400-level is located on the mezzanine. There is nearly 21,000 square feet of floor space, and up to 20,000 seats for concerts.
Madison Square Garden made boxing history throughout the 20th Century by hosting great matches between many heavyweight contenders, including Joe Frazier vs. Muhammad Ali.
Concerts events have included John Lennon's final concert appearance in 1980 and the final show of the Police's reunion concert in 2008.
The Garden is also home of the New York Liberty women's professional basketball team. Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus choose this great arena as well. Other events include international dog shows and national political events. The Garden hosted the Stanley Cup Finals and NBA Finals simultaneously on two occasions, in 1972 and 1994.
