The first game played at this venue was in September 1957 between the Packers and the Chicago Bears. In 1993, the first video/scoreboard was installed above the south end zone and in 1995, 90 more luxury suites were added. There is a layer of bleachers that surround the field. There are club seats, press boxes and luxury suites that sit and encircle the top of the Lambeau Field. The concourses are wide and feature a separate club level for both the suites and club seating.
The Green Bay Packer's facilities include a training room with pools, a weight room and meeting rooms, a 150-plus auditorium, a basket ball court, and a racquetball court, as well as a place to dine and a lounge just for the team. In July 2002 the team's offices were moved to the Atrium on the east side of the field.
Positioned in Southwest Green Bay, the site was originally farmland that is on an incline, which made things suitable for building a bowl. Lambeau was not the Packers' only regular-season home until 1995. The team maintained two separate ticket packages after moving all games to Green Bay.
The massive Atrium also hosts events throughout the year that are presented to support the community at large in Green Bay, Wisconsin, drawing more than 15,000 fans.
The surface field is comprised of natural grass that is reinforced with man-made fibers. Scoreboards on the North and South sides of the end zones with video screens display the scores and additional panels provide news and information.
