On September 10, 2001, Invesco Field at Mile High hosted its first regular season game, in which the Denver Broncos defeated the New York Giants 31û20. Invesco Field at Mile High is also used for concerts and other events. The first event held at the new stadium was a concert by the Eagles.

Located along I-35 close to Colfax Avenue and 17th Avenue exits, Invesco Field is in the Sun Valley area of Denver. There is a light rail station that made specifically for the field.

Barack Obama accepted his parties nomination to run for the President of the United States here, on August 28, 2008. Approximately 84,000 people attended Obama's speech, exceeding the normal capacity of the stadium due to the placement of audience on the field.

The main three-tier grandstand is in the shape of a horseshoe. The lower grandstand encompasses the entire field. Above the seats in the south end zone is the main video scoreboard. There are white and orange seats that mimic the Broncos team logo in the upper deck above the end zone on the north side of the field.
