Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Citizens Bank Park is home to Major League Baseball’s Phildelphia Phillies. Opening in April 2004, the inaugural game took place on April 12 when the home town Phillies battled the Cincinnati Reds. Ashburn Alley, named to commemorate Richie Ashburn who played center field for the Phillies until 1959, and then became a broadcaster for at the Phillies from 1963 to 1997, is a walkway that features eateries, gaming and Phillies memorabilia.
The Baker Bowl was the inspiration for the seating layout. The bowl seating is located 23 feet below street level. The entrances that are located at street-level take fans straight to the field and the main concourse. Home plate is located at the south end of the ballpark with the outfield to the north so that fans can take in the views of downtown while enjoying a game. Both of the dual-level bullpens sit in right field.
The mezzanine club level seats approximately of 6600 fans and is 21 feet above the street. 21,000 seats are available in the lower bowl area which also includes 1100-plus Diamond Club seats, just behind home plate. Boasting 20,000 parking spaces that are locate in lots that are close to the park, the Broad Street Subway Line is close to the facility as well.
