Located in the Westwood area of California is the University of California, Los Angeles. This college is in close proximity to Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the affluent Bel-Air community. UCLA is a research university that was established in 1919 and the school’s motto is “Let there be light”. UCLA is an undergraduate school with approximately 38,000 students enrolled and has membership with the Association of American Universities. This university has the highest amount of applicants of all colleges in the United States; it’s a very desirable institution with an amazing location. The UCLA uniform colors are true blue and gold.
Rose Bowl Stadium is home of the Bruins. Upon entering the field you will see a gorgeous natural playing field where the annual Rose Bowl football game takes place. Rose Bowl Stadium is located in Pasadena, California. The Bruins neighbors also happen to be this college football team’s biggest rival. The USC Trojans versus the UCLA Bruins is always a must-see game! As big an institution as UCLA football is, the real athletic tradition with this school is in the basketball program. UCLA has won more titles than any school in history, so be aware that Pauley Pavilion is a consistent sell-out. Don’t forget to check out the arts while you are visiting Pasadena. Ahmanson Theatre, the Greek Theatre and Spaceland are great venues to either see a concert or theatre production.
