The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville was founded in 1871 as a land grant research facility. Originally named Arkansas Industrial University, the school has strong reputation for its agriculture, architecture, business and creative writing programs. Notable alumni of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville include Admiral Vern Clark of the U.S. Navy, Hall of Fame NFL receiver Lance Alworth and football coach Jimmy Johnson, one of the few coaches to win both a national championship in college and the Super Bowl.
