University of Arizona

The University of Arizona is located in the heart of Tucson, Arizona. This school joined the Pac 10 conference in 1978. The team mascots are Wilbur and Wilma, two charming Wildcats. The University of Arizona (also known as U of A or UA) was the first college in Arizona and was officially opened in 1885. This university is proud of the strong athletics programs and students are passionate about being involved in sports and intensive studies. University of Arizona has a prestigious medical program, which provides degrees to talented students and athletes. Today, the school has over 36,000 students enrolled. The University of Arizona mission is “To discover, educate, serve, and inspire.”

University of Arizona Wildcats Football team calls Arizona Stadium home, and the pride of the university, the UA basketball team makes its home at McKale Center. Arizona Stadium was erected in 1928 and features luxury boxes, as well as outdoor stadium seating. McKale Center is a consistent sell-out, full of rabid UofA fans. Downtown Tucson has a great music scene, so be sure to check out a concert at two outstanding venues that both possess a lot of Tucson history, Club Congress and the Rialto Theatre. In addition, music and shows will play at TCC Music Hall and Centennial Hall.
