Established in 1923 and originally known as Texas Technological College, Texas Tech University is currently the one school in Texas that possesses an undergraduate college, a medical school and a law school. There are two satellite campuses for TTU, one in Germany and Spain. Some notable alumni from Texas Tech include Rick Husband, final commander of the space shuttle Columbia, musician John Denver and NFL All-Pro linebacker Zack Thomas.
The Red Raiders of Texas Tech have their hands full in the Big 12, but TTU always comes ready to play. Football takes place over at Jones Stadium, while basketball season is played at the United Spirit Arena. To satisfy your concert needs, the United Spirit Arena serves a multi-purpose facility for the Red Raiders student body, so be sure to see a concert or show there when the basketball squad is on the road.
