The 11th member of the Big 10 Conference, having joined the conference in 1991, Penn State University was established back in 1855. The school is located in State College, PA and has experienced exponential growth since its beginnings. Today the school is considered to be a Public Ivy institution, signifying that the school provides exceptional, Ivy League type education, but affordable at a public school price.
The Nittany Lions football team plays in the biggest stadium in college football, with a capacity for over 107,000 fans! Beaver Stadium is an intimidating spectacle, a great home field advantage for the Nittany Lions. You also need to be sure to make the walk next door to the Bryce Jordan Center. The Penn State basketball teams play at Bryce Jordan, the venue has hosted the NCAA Wrestling Championships, and when a sporting event is not going on there is a good chance a concert or show will be there. Another great place for entertainment is the State Theater.
It will not be long before you are chanting, ‘We Are … Penn State!”
