Oklahoma State University-Stillwater was established an institution in 1890. OSU has developed into a strong academic institution, producing several Truman Scholars, being a strong agricultural school, and having its math program recognized by the American Mathematics Association. The students at OSU put on a pep rally each year known as the “Orange Peel”, an event so big it is considered to be the largest student-run pep rally in the world.
The Cowboys of Oklahoma State compete in the ultra-competitive Big 12 Conference and are engaged in the Bedlam Series with in-state rival Oklahoma for sports bragging rights across the board. The Cowboys make their home at Boone-Pickens Stadium for all football games, and take to the hardwood at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys also possess one of the richest traditions in collegiate wrestling and have won a national championship in baseball as well.
