Founded in 1887, North Carolina State University at Raleigh is a public research facility. Historically the school is quite strong in the fields of agriculture, design, engineering and textiles. The school also has strong rankings in terms of economical value for the quality of education that is provided to the students.
Athletically, the N.C. State Wolfpack work hard against their opponents in the ACC, battling on the gridiron at Carter-Finley Stadium. Once basketball season rolls around, a sport that the Wolfpack has won multiple national championships in, including one of the most exciting finishes of all-time in 1983, North Carolina State fans can catch their Wolfpack at the RBC Center. To satisfy your need for the arts, there are some terrific venues around campus, including the Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park and the Berkeley Cafe.
