Marquette University is a private, Jesuit university that was founded in 1881 as Marquette College. Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the school is a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Programs that Marquette has received special notoriety for include biomedical engineering, nursing mid-wifery and physical therapy. Notable alumni from Marquette University includes playwright Michael Neville, college basketball coach Rick Majerus and theologian Scott Hahn.
The Marquette Golden Eagles won a national championship in basketball back in 1977. The program remains strong, and the Marquette University Golden Eagles play their home games at the Bradley Center. During your visit to Milwaukee be sure to take in a show or concert at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, Pabst Theatre or the Rave-Eagles Ballroom.
