Georgetown University is a private, Jesuit university located in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. Founded in 1789 by Father John Carroll, the college is the oldest Roman Catholic university in the country. Georgetown is nationally recognized academically in the fields of business, government, international relations, law and medicine.
Basketball reigns supreme at this college and has a tremendous reputation in the Big East Conference and the NCAA, particularly during the Patrick Ewing years when the Hoyas made it to the NCAA Finals three times, winning the title once. The Georgetown Hoyas play their home games at the Verizon Center-D.C. Due to the geography of the campus, Georgetwon is blessed with plenty to do in regards to concerts and shows.
