Boston College

Founded in 1863 in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Boston College is a private research facility in Boston's South End. The main campus of Boston College sits in a historic district and is an early example of early college gothic architecture. Notable alumni from this prestigious institution include Senator John Kerry, former Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill and sports columnist Mike Lupica.

The Boston College Eagles compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference, balancing very well the art of being a strong academic institution and a strong athletic school. The Eagles football team play their home games at Alumni Stadium, while basketball season finds the athletes of Boston College at Conte Forum. With the strong history of Boston and a true love of the arts, there are many music and theatre options available. A few good options include Agganis Arena and the Orpheum Theatre for music, and the Charles Playhouse has a strong reputation for being a good venue for theatre productions.
