Baylor University is currently the largest private Baptist university in the country. Established in 1845 in Waco, Texas, this research facility ranks high as a college in engineering and business. Baylor competes in the highly competitive Big 12 Conference, doing so in the Big 12 South. Some notable alumni that have graduated from this fine institution include Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson, college football coach Hayden Fry and country music legend Willie Nelson.
The Bears may be a private university, but still make a point of being a competitive force in the Big 12. Take in a Bears football game at Floyd Casey Stadium, or if you are visiting during the winter, be sure to visit the Ferrell Center for all Baylor University basketball action.
