Act One News and Updates
An adaptation of one of literature's most beloved autobiographies, "Act One", tells the enthralling tale of Moss Hart, an impoverished theater hopeful-turned-Broadway royalty in the early 20th Century. The young Hart battled poverty from immigration at an early age and, fueled by his love of theater, established an iconic career highlighted by the satirical masterpiece, "Once In A Lifetime". The work initiated a brilliant collaborative relationship between Hart and the legendary comic playwright George S. Kaufman that continued over a decade.
"Act One" is expertly written and directed by James Lapine, who oversees the dramatic cast spearheaded by Tony Award-nominees Tony Shalhoub (from the hit TV series "Monk") and Santonio Fontana (of Disney's "Frozen"), as well as Tony Award-winners Andrea Martin and Chick Cooper. You can be among the first to see this fascinating memoir unfold on the stage beginning March 20 at the stunning Vivian Beaumont Theatre in New York. Ever wondered what it takes to actually get a show onto the stage? Secure your "Act One" tickets now and enjoy the captivating account of Broadway's most poignant up-by-the-bootstraps story.
