Book of Mormon 2015 News and Updates

5/25/15 - The Book of Mormon continues to delight audiences with its irreverent satire of religion in its tour around the country and at its home on Broadway. Recently, the show announced its return to Las Vegas in late September for a few weeks run at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts after a successful run last year. During the recent press-night opening of the show at the Marcus Center in Milwaukee, the lead actor who plays Elder Price, David Larsen, was replaced during intermission by his understudy Ryan Bondy due to illness. Despite the change in cast, the show still delighted audiences. Tickets to the rest of the Milwaukee run are on sale plus the other stops on the tour, including San Francisco, and its Broadway home remain on sale, with prices starting at $185.

4/30/15 - The Book of Mormon infamously mocks the Mormon faith, although in reality its religious satire is a reflection of all religions, not just Mormonism. However, it has still never made its way into the state with the densest Mormon population, Utah, since it began its national tour in 2011. That changed when the tour announced their first ever stop in Salt Lake City in July for 16 performances. Although it brought controversy, the tickets to all performances sold out within a day, although you can still find some at Razorgator. The immensely popular show is set to hit a total of 21 cities this year on tour, as well as playing most nights at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in New York. Ticket prices vary based on location, venue, and date, but typically start around $100.

4/6/15 - Recognized as one of the most popular shows on Broadway, the Book of Mormon continues its highly successful run at the Eugene O’Neill Theater in New York City while also featuring performances this month in Chicago as well as Vancouver, British Columbia north of the border. The Bank of America Theater will serve as the hosting venue in Illinois, while Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre will feature performances for fans in the western province of Canada. Shows will begin on April 17 at San Francisco’s famed Orpheum Theater in the heart of California’s North Bay, and seats are running out quickly! Tickets are on sale now for all showings on Broadway and off, but don’t wait to secure yours—supplies are limited for this one-of-a-kind performance!

2/19/15 - The popularity of the award winning Book of Mormon continues, with many chances to see it on tour around the country, as well as at its home on Broadway and in the West End. Its lengthy run and popularity doesn't stop it from creating controversy due to its satirical stance on religion, although by now most audiences know what to expect from the popular musical. The show shows no signs of slowing down, with tickets continually selling out for the performances, both on tour and on Broadway. The tour is currently in Birmingham, AL, and Dallas, TX, and is set to open in Kansas City at the end of the month, as well as begin a lengthy run in Chicago at the end of the month. There are still seats available for most dates, with ticket prices varying based on location.

2014 Season

12/18/14 - The Book of Mormon is one of the most popular Broadways shows touring today. The show was written by the hilarious and talented creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. It tells the story of two Mormon missionaries who are sent to Africa to try to convert locals who are much more concerned about war, famine and AIDS. In 2011, The Book of Mormon won nine Tony awards including the prize for Best Musical. Between now and the end of year it is playing in New York City at the Eugene O’Neill Theater, the Stranahan Theater in Toledo, Ohio; Kravis Center-Dreyfoos Hall in West Palm Beach, Florida and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida. Purchase your tickets now so you don’t miss one of the funniest musicals ever.

3/26/14 - The Book of Mormon's unprecedented success has caused it to extend its second national tour! This satiric slam-dunk will be at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles for an extended engagement until May 11—apart from this production, the longest running Book of Mormon stint this year will be held at the Princess of Wales in Toronto from 9/16- 11/30. The Book of Mormon is set to tour through 2015 and we've got all the tickets you need! Book of Mormon tickets on sale are available for the Boston, Columbus, Costa Mesa, San Diego, Louisville, East Lansing, Las Vegas, Indianapolis and more. The same production from Chicago is currently on the road, with the addition of David Larsen as Elder Price and Cody Jamison Strand as Elder Cunningham. Get Book of Mormon tickets for this unapologetic Tony Award-winning play today—you won't regret it!

7/3/13 - The Book of Mormon has become a national theater phenomenon. The religious satire musical won a Tony Award in two years ago for Best Musical and more recently, a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater album. The original Broadway cast recording reached No. 3 on the Billboard charts, the highest of any Broadway album in over forty years. Peter Marks of the Washington Post says the musical is "one of the most joyously acidic bundles Broadway has unwrapped in years" while the New York Post reported that audience members were "sore from laughing so hard.”

Book of Mormon tickets average $309 overall; Book of Mormon Broadway tickets are averaging $342, Book of Mormon Chicago tickets $161, Book of Mormon DC tickets $248, and cheap Book of Mormon tickets – Book of Mormon Cleveland tickets are $136.

The cynical, yet hopeful plot of the Mormon musical premiered on Broadway at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre and has since made its way to Denver at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Los Angeles at the Pantages Theatre, the UK at the Prince of Wales Theatre, and currently in Chicago at the Bank of America Theatre. After much success, The Book of Mormon is going on a second US traveling tour to: New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Washington DC, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, Omaha, Orlando, Tampa, Denver, and Fort Lauderdale. Next year, Book of Mormon shows will travel to Los Angeles, Charlotte, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Durham, Baltimore, Schenectady, Hartford, Boston, Providence, Columbus, Costa Mesa, Louisville, San Diego, East Lansing, Indianapolis, Seattle, and Portland.
